so I recently injured my elbow skiing and have to take a week off of work. so i asked a buddy if i could borrow his PS3. i got all set up but it wont work on my tv for some reason. Im wondering that since my buddy had his on a hd and im puttin it on my sdtv is there a way to switch the adapter or just a way to get it to work?
that label is misleading. Its just to switch between component and composite video.
I had a problem with my Xbox 360 not working on my parents tv until I hooked it up to something else and changed the resolution to fit the new tv. Don't know if that could solve your problem.
Do you know how you're hooking it up? Component or composite?
i have mine on an older sony. you gotta make sure you're using the right AV cords. if you have ps2 cords, or know what they look like, they're exactly the same. the red white and yellow ends go into the tv, and the little boxy thing goes into the ps3 in teh small slot. maybe this makeshift diagram will work (probably not though)

thats what the end of the cord looks like if you stare right at it. its very thin and kinda wide. hope that helps at all.
I don't know what the deal is man, I've always had mine non hdtv and my understanding is that as long as you're using the red white and yellow things that plug into the matching spots on your tv you should be solid. My guess is you're using the hd ones which are different colors ? ( I could be totally wrong just my 2 cents)
