there are to many noobs that come in to the parks all they do is get in are way piss people off and slow us down they always try gaps and fall and take half an hour putting there skis back on and wats with people using ipods they cant here u when ur calling ur turn they really piss me off
I don't have a problem with people who are actually trying to do stuff in the park because that is part of learning and I am still learning and you could probably call me a n00b. The people that I don't like are the other skiers that use the terrain park as a trail and just ride through cutting you off and not caring at all.
that's understandable, and it doesn't bother me as much when it's someone who can actually ski.
the other night my buddy and i were in the small jump park messing around with some "cool grabs" without poles on this little jump. and we counted 6 "dropping after that guy" in a row. it was hilarious. then i got pissed cause i would get snaked everytime by some kid coming off the fucking 3 foot wide rainbow box above.
copy that, I hate the kids who use the park as an extension to whatever green run they choose to do that day, esp. when they have a total lack of respect for the people using the park, cutting us up and just making the place shit, I have nothing but respect for the guys learning how to Jib in the park (I'm one of 'em) but as for those other little suckers....
Nobody anywhere around here calls the drop in any way at all, we just sort of assert ourselves and next in line, and then go. Seems like a bit of an unspoken rule. To my surprise I got out to CO last year and some people actually do call the drop. Personally I like it because theres non of this scooting down the inrun bs. I ended up just adopting a simple raised hand to do the job, sometimes people even talked about like "hey whos goin next" but it was never this formal DROPPING! crap. That could get annoying.
And to the thread maker- in the absence of a kiddie park, they have to be somewhere. If they aren't really damaging the features in any way then leave em be. It gets more people exposed to the sport. If they get in the way just ask them to move. Usually a much larger person on twintips with mad steeze has a profound influence on a little kid in the terrain park. If you lipslide the down rail they were just in the way of and then ski down to them and explain it, chances are they will listen.
