To many noobs

there are to many noobs that come in to the parks all they do is get in are way piss people off and slow us down they always try gaps and fall and take half an hour putting there skis back on and wats with people using ipods they cant here u when ur calling ur turn they really piss me off

well how you say when people cant hear you call your drop chill out. at keystone not many people do its kinda a crowd up top and just whoever is by the front goes. everyone just waits and if two people start going at once one waits and takes like two steps back uphill. its real chill

on the whole ipod thing, i usually keep mine off until i know im next, that or i just look around me and make it clear im next since usually its whoever is up front most goes, i will say drop every once in a while but i dont call 'next' just say it right before i go incase someone else was about it, other then that mostly its just 2-4 people waiting so you just decide between you whois next as the persons going down

There's too many noobs trying to string together sentences here.  I'm just trying to read through posts and then BAM run-on sentence.  They're always getting in my way and slowing me down, it really pisses me off.  You might as well just give up on communicating now, you're holding up my progression, brah.

Where I ski, if you don't call dropping next, you'll never get to drop. And on the iPod subject, I have found an ingenious and blindingly obvious solution that works beyond the reasonable boundaries of innovation... PUT 1 OF THE EARBUDS IN!!! Leave the other one out and you can still hear everybody.

i try to always keep a positive attitude towards the sport and keep telling myself that i was probably once in their position annoying the hell out of people trying to hit a jump or something, but damn sometimes it takes like 5 minutes to wait for a line of them with no speed to climb up the top of the lip that they didn't get enough to speed to get to the top to and then wait for them to put there skis back on after the lip when the fall down, just frustrating.

too many threads about this, the fact is that that situation will never change, and we all need to chill out about it and deal with it. all the good skiers and snowboarders get waaayyy too much shit about wining all the time, and you prove that fact, we should just roll with the punches and change the way everyone looks at us

Maybe take the attitude that some just don't know anybody and they're not deliberately trying to annoy anybody; they're just trying to learn and perhaps they're being a little selfish in the process. I'm a high school teacher who's also a noob and trying to get better in the park. I try to be very considerate and if a certain jump is busy, I go elsewhere.

The students of mine I run into there (no pun intended) think it's cool that I'm in the park and that I ride twintips.

The guys who are good might want to take a little time and teach the noobs some etiquette, without being a jackass about it. Teach them the ropes - what is cool to do and what is not cool, but in a way that makes them feel accepted, and maybe that will help.

Of course there will still be some assholes, but that's everywhere you go in everything you do.

Ha ha I try....the best is when I'm in the park and my kids don't know who I am and then if I take off my helmet, they're like..."whoa!"
They know how to get me off topic in class...all they have to do is ask me about skiing.

The worst offense I saw was 2 girls who skied up to a rail, stopped, and then SAT DOWN on the rail and just sat there straddling the rail.

My local hill's pretty good with etiquette though...the ski patrol cleans up the messes quickly and people don't make fun of noobies like me...they yell down encouragement from the lift instead of insults. When I used to live in CO we used to yell "yard sale!" from the lift at anyone who spilled it below.....you guys still do that out there?
