So I've been out of the ski market for over a year now, was hoping to stay that way. As it is I'm not totally convinced that the edges are going to stay in my fujatives and I don't want to go to CO with that in the back of my head the entire time. It's time for a change.
-6'1"
-180lbs
-Park, lots of rails
-Midwest
-Groomers
-Switch
-Somewhere between noob and expert
Looking for:
-break from the park noodle concept, little more stable
-about 85mm underfoot
-lots of pop
-amazing switch
-fun on groomers, holds an edge on on ice
-looking maybe to a center mount
-bombproof
So where does that leave me? I'd replace the fujatives, but I'm sick of all that flex. I don't butter at all as it is. I'm sick being on my tips every time I come off a rail a bit unbalanced.
I was looking at the Volkl Wall, but I heard the bindings rip out of them and I don't know how they are for flex. Thoughts?
Am I still ok at 180 or so for length? I don't have a real preference, but I want something to function well as a real ski too.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd still like to know about the bindings ripping out of the Walls. I'll don't have a problem with rivets for delam, but if the bindings come out thats a problem.
I'm also a bit skeptical as to how the PE or AR6 would ride center mounted. Thoughts on that? Do they still ride close to normal a cm or two back from true center?

my brother just got last year's trouble makers and he already has busted the edges all to shit after probably >40 days of skiing on mostly rails.

this years tm's were made with rails in mind, they have denser layers of p-tex under the foot and a sheet of titanium underneath the edges in that area so they'r ultra durable. but yes trouble makers have definitly had some problems with rails in the past but i think they definitly fixed it for this year. i havnt had a problem w/ mine all year. i dont do ALOT of rails but the edges are just fine in that area and dont look like they'll be coming out ever.

I'd still like some info on he topics I mentioned before, particularly the durability of the Walls.
Also, how are the TM's flex wise? I've only known people who rode them back when they had durability issues and they were really soft. I don't want that. I'm not after a 2x4 either, but the fujatives are too soft for me right now.

fuck what everyone else has written in this thread, sorry guys, youre just straight up wrong
the ski you want is ninthward Compte mik d pros. they have TONS of pop, buttery but not too soft, turn really well, ride switch really really well. you will never hear anyone who has ridden them hate on this: They are the best park ski ever made. people who havent been on them might be like "oh, i dunno, blah blah public enemies walls fujis blah blah AR6 blah blah moments are sweet blah blah STLs" they havent been on comptes. i have been on scratch fs, scratch bcs, ghettos, many different lines, fujis, AR5s, ARVs and none of them even come close

TM's have been ruled out, good ski but too soft and I'd like to get that extra 3mm.
MSP is too much ski, you guys had me wondering with that one. Who actually read everything? MINNESOTA.

Now that I look a bit, me too. I've also heard about the great stuff you can get with the 150$ that you would save by getting most other skis.
That is a consideration. I am not willing to spend much over the 500$ mark. I'll go over, but I want something I think I'll have for a while.

I've heard a lot of stories on here about bindings ripping out of walls, but I don't have any first hand experience with the ski, I was thinking of trying to pick up a pair cheap at teh end of the season but that binding ripping out thing turned me off them.
As for center mounting Public enemies, I have mine mounted at +5 and they are good in bumps, powder and things like that, but I wish i had them center mounted for park, jubbing and even groomers sometimes. I don't know anything about the Ar6.
