i was skiing at big boulder today and throwing down pretty decent- until i saw there jump line and realized how pathetic my skiing is- will i actually learn a bunch of stuff or is it just more skiing in the summer than anything
worth it...even if u dont learn anything u get to ski with sick people and ski sick parks in the summer...also if u relaly wanna learn shit just get to buisness and the coaches help u sooo much and give u such good tips and stuff plus u meet so many kids
i never went to camp..i think i would just get in fight and beat up little faggie want-bee steezers...save your money go out west... land and some soft pow and progess on your own.
Its definitely worth it because after going even if you don't get all the tricks you want, you can ask how to do them so you can try them on your own after, it kinda sets you with a good base layer to start working the next season.
you could prob take the $2000+ that you would spend on camp, sleep in the parking lot in your van or some couch and ski in the public parks for a month.
shits expensive, the way i see it you could take the $2000 it costs to go for a week and get yourself about two and a half weeks at the water ramps and still have money left over to buy yourself a really good backyard setup. And you'll learn a hell of a lot more doing the 2nd option. But if you have rich parents go for it
LMAO, ooops. This was susposed to go in the "best graphics of all time' thread but i had two tabs on my browser open that were both open to the reply page and i thought this was the best graphics thread. lol. sorry.
and as for the camps, i have been thinking about maybe going to one but there so fuking expensive!! especially the one in the summer, there like $2000 and you have to pay for a plain ticket too.
I would say camp is worth it if you have the money. It's not going to make you better tho just by going. You have to want to get better. Just skiing at boulder everyday will help you improve as well if you try new things. Especially in the spring.
depends what aspect of skiing you want to work on. if its jumps and pipes it is probably one of the best things you coulddo for your overall ability. if you are already good at jumps and need to work on rails then you might be better off taking like 200 bucks and building the best summer setup ever and getting nasty at rails for a fraction of the price
what about camp of champions i was thinking about going there with my friend....i want to learn 7's better and sw 5's flips and some pipe skills....is it worth it
CoC is aboslutely amazing...they probally have the best deal out there, and best experience... i went to windells in 2004 when i snowboarded, and i got way better, it is probally the best place in the world...everyone there is chill, and you learn a ton...whatever you want to learn/do theyll do it,,,
dude camp is so baller. like you learn some stuff but it is more a good time, meet new people, party your ass off. and you just stay more familiar with skiing some too. its worth it i would say
Definitely worth it I would think.
And a related question: Would it be good for an almost complete noob (myself) to go there to learn? Would that be more beneficial or would going with a solid background be better?
i went there and was pretty new. i started skiing in march(switched from boarding) and could hit stuff but not really good. im still not but camp gave me a lot of confidence and i learned some new stuff. worth it for sure for the experience if nothing else
