I was skiing stratton a few weeks back and overshot a jump a little bit to switch. I didn't land on flats or anything, I just landed switch a little harder than usual. Immediately, both skis eject, even though I landed completely straight and balanced.
So I keep skiing, and when the end of the day comes around I check out my bindings and one of the heel pieces has ripped the topsheet and part of the core up, so there's a crack through the ski.
I took it to a shop to see if there's anything I could do about it and told the guy about what happened. He said that what's been happening to a lot of kids lately is they're landing switch, and pressure comes off the pedal that controls the breaks. So the breaks stick into the snow, and since you're going switch, they dig in really hard and eject you immediately, sometimes fucking up your ski or binding. Long story short, I have to buy new skis because the warranty was up, so that was about 500 in unforseen expenses.
So, I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else, and if there are certain bindings that never do this (I was riding rossi scratch bindings from a couple years ago on my ar6s).

It happened to me last week. I was riding switch and I was about to turn around and my skis cross and my whole break, with that heel thingy that holds the break, completely ripped and popped off so I was like wtf?... (I have px12's btw) Took my skis to the repair guys at the local mountain I go to and he's like "Ya, I can't fix this." so I ski the rest of the day without that piece lol. I my skis to a shop several days later and I was told the same thing about riding switch and getting your breaks caught into the snow and ya... I the whole piece replaced for $30 though so I'm pretty happy. I'm just being more careful and trying to make sure it doesn't happen again.

only thing that worked for me on my px12's was to set the DIN higher. The bindings was pretty loose already when I broke my first brakes on the px12's.
Atleast when it comes to switch landings, cus the boot lifts up a little bit, but not enough to loose the ski, know what I mean?
so the brakes wont go all down, but they will go abit out form the ski. So a little sloppy switchriding after a heavy landing, they'll eat snow and rip straight off.
Happened tons of times for me, untill the ski didn't take the pressure anymore. And the whole binding popped right out of the ski

that really sucks..my friend landed switch on a huge table and double ejected, but there wasnt anything wrong with his bindings, but the tail of his ski broke, but he sent it back to salomon and get new ones for free
