Domain Name Sites

Hey, me and a buddy are ready to start up a .com, and were trying to find a site that will register a .com for us and thats not a scam or anything. Im not too sure how stuff like this works, but I found a site www.godaddy.com and it seems pretty cheap and legit. Do you think thats a good site to use? What sites do you guys use?

holy fuck that was funny, it would be better if godaddy.com was the world greatest scam, but its not i have used it and it is a huge buisness

Dreamhost is an awesome provider. If you sign up with them, search google for "Dreamhost Promo Codes." I got 1 year of hosting for $10. 20 gigs of space, a 1 TB transfer/month, etc. If you're a developer or screw with a lot of stuff, Dreamhost is the way to go.

You usually get a free domain when you sign up with them. They just register your name through services like godaddy or domaindirect. I've worked w/GoDaddy and Domain Direct before. They're both solid.
