Replying to HMMMM Interesting--Helly Hansen
Yeah So i got the Helly Hansen Show Down Jacket this season and its so sick. Overall Best Suit i've ever had. The Quality is obvious all over the jacket, Insulation is great, breathable, you get it.
But apparently the quality isn't 100%, which is understandable i guess, nothing is. In a minor irritation one of the snaps on the front pocket just popped off and disappeared. So i call Helly up and ask them to send me a few extra snaps so i can repair it, and this is the answer i got.
"Helly Hansen does not ship buttons, snaps, or any extra material for repairing clothing. Because we guarantee our clothing 100%, We would ask that you ship your jacket Back so we can do research and development and determine what went wrong with your coat. Then, we will either repair it or ship you a new one."
So i figured that was alright, and I asked how long it would take. The Rep. on the phone responded with "6 to 8 weeks." Based on the fact that I wouldn't have my new coat for a huge part of the season, I think I might just live with it and send it back at the end of the season. I might even just install another snap on it, i doubt it would really show the difference.
SO i dunno how I feel about their policy. Overall i think its great they care enough to review the product and replace it. I do wish that they would offer replacement parts for people who jsut didn't want to bother though.
