HMMMM Interesting--Helly Hansen

Yeah So i got the Helly Hansen Show Down Jacket this season and its so sick. Overall Best Suit i've ever had. The Quality is obvious all over the jacket, Insulation is great, breathable, you get it.
But apparently the quality isn't 100%, which is understandable i guess, nothing is. In a minor irritation one of the snaps on the front pocket just popped off and disappeared. So i call Helly up and ask them to send me a few extra snaps so i can repair it, and this is the answer i got.
"Helly Hansen does not ship buttons, snaps, or any extra material for repairing clothing. Because we guarantee our clothing 100%, We would ask that you ship your jacket Back so we can do research and development and determine what went wrong with your coat. Then, we will either repair it or ship you a new one."
So i figured that was alright, and I asked how long it would take. The Rep. on the phone responded with "6 to 8 weeks." Based on the fact that I wouldn't have my new coat for a huge part of the season, I think I might just live with it and send it back at the end of the season. I might even just install another snap on it, i doubt it would really show the difference.
SO i dunno how I feel about their policy. Overall i think its great they care enough to review the product and replace it. I do wish that they would offer replacement parts for people who jsut didn't want to bother though.
your thoughts???

same kinda happened to me too, on my survival pants, the back zipper broke, and half of it is still on. i duct taped the inside and outside for no leakage, but im kinda chaped about the whole thing. i just dont want to wait and have no pants, so imma stick it through.

helly took about a 5 or 6 weeks to repair a zipper on my pants, but that was in the summer, so quite a bit longer now. for things like snaps or zippers, they repair that. don't count on a new jacket.

if you want to send it back to them don't put a new button on it yourself or they wont warranty it if you send it back in the summer. I had logan 5 pants last year and the seems were absolute shit. so my mom sewed them back up so i could use the pants then i called HH and they said they wouldn't warranty them because they had been sewn even though more seems were riping. I'm not actually very impressed with there quality.

The transfer pant I have is so diesel, The seems are so beefy and the quality is amazing. I really have complaints with the jacket other than that one bummed snap. Its so warm (Freezing up in northern Maine) and the material is extremely strong compared to most Down jackets i've seen. I actually snagged it this week and thought i would rip a cash straight across it, but there wasn't even a pin hole or scratch. As far as waterproofing goes its extremely impressive for a puffy as well. It poured rain here in mid January (Fucking global warming) and I was walking back from class in it. My Jeans got soaked because water just ran off the jacket. My upper body and head was dry Thanks to the hugggeeee hood.
Neways, im just going to wait until summer, makes more sense to me. The Pocket has a zip neway..

Sounds like typical turnaround on a warranty claim to me.
I love the HH stuff I have seen.

the same thing happened to me on my logan 5 jacket. one of the snaps popped off when i unsnapped the pocket. luckily it's a useless pocket that doesn't get used. But that policy the rep told you is pretty sheisty. I can't say i'm very impressed.

man i destroyed a helly jacket last year. all you need to do is wait until the end of the season or a month long break in skiing where you can return it to the shop you got it from and warranty it. I got a brand new one because I delaminated the material around every single zipper. It was still fully water proof.
turns out the material was faulty, oh well, as far as I know mine was the only one that this happened to, their product/ quality is amazing.

Dude Helly Garb is the way to go...just crazy $$$$ but I like the policy, most companies would be like go to walmart and get a button, or ship it back and it will 45.99 + shipping & Handling...go H/H

i work for a HH shop and the way to do it is during the summer. bring it to the shop cuz it takes a while for them to repair during the winter. they will cover shipping and guarentee it to be fixed or replaced. but i know what ya mean. we actually have a lot of problems with buttons falling off even when we just get them in the shop new. im not too stoked on that. but overall their stuff is way bomb.

ya, kinda gay. i got the logan 5 pants for Christmas a year and a half ago and the button over the side leg zip fell off before i even got on the hill. i called em up and got the same explaination. i decided to do the same thing and wait till the end of the season to send them in. not super stoked on the idea, and i was kinda bummed jsut because since i didn't have that button to snap the zipper would unzip itself and my pants would drag when i'd walk to my car. so not a super big deal but the bottoms would have been in better condition if they'd have sent me a stupid button.
