Adding transitions in sony vegas

i have absolutely no idea what im doing yet in this program...so for anyone who knows, how do i add transitions such as fades etc. in sony vegas

i use vegas and its real cool once u figure everything out. to do fades from one clip to another all you have to do is drag one clip on the timeline so its in teh same layer and then over lay a little bit in the front of it and you will see a crossfade. if you want to make it fade from black just grab the upper left or right hand corner depending if you want to fade in or out and drag towards the middle of the clip
