I don't know exactly what percentage of people on here tell Mike Douglas to shut up, and claim that he's a terrible announcer, but seriously, give him a break.
He's really good at it. It's not bloody easy to call all of those tricks (especially in the pipe) in succession, especially when you have to get both the spin amount, axis, and grab correct. On top of that, he;s able to give extra tidbits of information and commentary on good and sketchy style. Not only does he do all this, but he also translates it to the rest of the world that our sport is being showcased to. Just because he says "switch, that's backwards," doesn't mean he's an idiot.
What really sparked this thread is, when I was watching the TV rip of slopestyle, Colby did a pretzel, and to the untrained eye it looks like a devilishly simple and unimpressive trick, but Douglas went back and emphasized truly how difficult they are (to some... don't come in here claiming OMGZORZ pretzels i do thems in mai sleep) for the rest of the population.
I don't think there's anyone out there who can do what he's doing better, and I'm thoroughly convinced that none of the little claimers in here could even come close.
If you're still not convinced, you should definitely give this a read:
