i go to a pretty big party school.  its a lot of fun, always something to do, tons of hot girls, and a good education too.  seeing the emo/indie hate thread made me want to write this

if you are hating on scene/indie/hipster kids, get your hate priorities straight.  the "bro," a stereotypical fratboy/wannabe fratboy, is by far worse.

if anyone doesnt know what a bro is, wait til college.  they typically use annoying lingo such as straight, legit, obvi, and other word of the moment dude-speak.  they wear caps a lot, take beer pong real seriously and are generally looking for any excuse to call five of their "boys" and beat the shit out of one single person

i hung out with a lot of bros last year, but they were pothead bros so they weren't bad.  but non-stoner bros are generally kids who played sports in high school but have no place to prove themselves other than by trying to fight people.  last year it seemed like i got in a fight or near fight almost every fucking weekend.  and i really try hard to avoid fights,  but i moved to a different part of town near the downtown area of my college and its way different.

so now I hang out with a lot of scarf and rhino wearing, tight jeans cig smoking hipster kids, and let me tell you, hate on these kids all u want they are a million times cooler.  they can be conformist in their non-conformity, a little pretentious and sometimes strange but i havent gotten in one fight this year, ive been to incredibly cool parties that seem like they are out of a movie, and college seems a million times cooler.

so ill stick with PBR, kamel reds and bands no one has ever heard of over a bunch of violent socially inept dickheads.  and if you are one of these kids and you are reading this, go pregame a keg of hell

I play sports in high school, and i'm not a bro.

All these hate threads need to chill. If you don't like someone, who gives a shit. That is the way that they live their lives, just live your own life and stop bitching. And I'm not saying you are because I know you are a chill kid. I don't understand why everyone spends so much time hating other people and centering their lives on these people they hate.

yeah I listen to rap and I'm not a wigger.  theres more to it than that, obviously.  what is your point?  you know what a bro is, enough to say you aren't one.  I cant really define it much more than I did.

i would agree except for the fact that bros have:

wrecked my mo-ped
came in a group of five to my dorm to stomp the shit out of me
tried to file a false police report against me
consistently tried to start fights with me or my friends

so you see, it directly affects me.  one time i got suckerpunched by a bro who then ran.  the cops immediately rolled up, and i was drunk and had weed on me.  fortunately nothing happened.  after that I seriously wished I could have a huge-ass black guy for a bodyguard or something just so people wouldnt start shit in the first place.

of course i can try to avoid them.  but its inevitable i will run into some again.  last weekend one of them tried to start a fight with me.  fortunately the owner of the house broke it up and kicked the kid out before things escalated.  it was a good thing the owner was nice, cause i slammed the kid into his door and broke it right in front of him.  it could have been way worse, i was just lucky for once

bro, it sounds like you are hanging out with the wrong crowd. if ur getting in all these altercations with "bros" then maybe its time to step back and take a look at who and where ur hanging out. i undertand if they barge into your life but u cant complain if ur hanging around them. and for the record not all bros are bad. i know some tight pant cigerette smokers that start fights just to start fights and think they are hot shit. it goes both ways try to get that through your head. sorry if i come of a little strong but im tired of people bitching because someone else is different

ehh whatever.  only point i am trying to make is that kids like this are much worse than most things people hate on.


i always reassure myself by saying that fighting is the quickest way to get arrested or kicked out of school (it really is, just watch cops) and that eventually karma will fuck these kids over.  but it doesnt seem to happen, at least that i know about

I went on a visit to St. Rose in Albany and i'm probably going to go there but on the tour they took me to the gym. We go up the elevator and i'm think I don't give a fuck about the gym its just going to be a bunch of bros. We get up there and there are a bunch of pretty average kids working out in there and it seemed pretty chill. Didn't see many bros at St. Rose at all. oh and yay for PBR

I think the problem is that all these kids are trying to fit in with a certain "group" and to do this they try to conform to that stereotype and act the way they wouldn't normally act if they were being themselves. I've found that the best, most fun "groups" of kids are the ones that you can't stereotype.
For example, I have a few "bro" type friends, a lot of friends, a few football type friends, some indie type friends...when we all hang out though we have a good time and rarely to never get into fights or big arguments....werrrd

this is true, a lot of my friends wear abercrombie and shit, but would never be caught dead listening to jack johnson or dave matthews, in fact most of my buddies listen to rap, hardcore, and indie, it's nice to have an eclectic group of friends that can't be stereotyped some of my friends can be, but most of my close friends who i get a long with best, cannot

i think hating on "bros" is the result of jealousy and being on the ass end of the people skills spectrum. Its pretty obvious everyone who thinks bros are gay and rape each other after drinking natty light had very few friends their whole lives and really just cant make friends.

Lemme tell you, a lot of my friends played football, wore abercrombie, blah blah in high school and we never once butt fucked each other or stuck big black dildos up eachother.

Im pretty sure "bros" get laid on a far more consistent basis with way less emotional attatchment than weird conforming non conformists do.

I dont agree at all with ppl picking fights for no reason but some ppl do start them. a lot of kids actually feel bad after picking a fight.

anyways i am really just hating on the whole violence mentality thing.  these kids start more shit than any other definable stereotype.  and they dont even fight fair, thats the funny part.  one of these tools actually pulled out brass knuckles and a knife on me.  only reason i didnt kick his little bitch ass on the spot was that hes in a lameass frat who no doubt would jump me later

i actually have a friend who is a pretty huge bro, but hes been that way since high school and he knows it, doesnt take himself seriously at all.  hes real fun to hang out with but i can see why other people think hes an asshole sometimes.

These people that you are talking about that don't get in fights are really not definable by any type of group of people. Most of these so called cigarette smoking hipsters have actually become there own self and have not followed any type of trend that others may think is cool.  Many of them are very open minded because they realize that everybody has different goals in life and that a person should not be judged for the goals that they have.  What seems interesting to me is that you will notice in conversations that most "hipsters" live in the current.  The "bros" on the other hand, live with the past and future because they think there life is meaningful.  This may sound harsh or totally exaggerated to those living in a fantasy world, but it doesn't really matter because they will never really grasp the total meaning of whats being said.

More than likely, the people that are starting the fight are fake. In other words, they have not developed their own opinions on life and do not have any sort of philosophy. They are just ignorant because they think that everybody should live in a certain way. These people are the followers. Coincidetally, many of these same people that get in fights are also the followers of some sort of religion because they can't develop their own thoughts on why we all exist.  And this is also why the all the bros play beer pong, becasue it is what everybody else thinks is so cool.

So basically...the people that you've embarked on can think for themselves

there is nothing wrong with ralph lauren, lacoste, khakis, titleist, abercrombie and fitch, etc. There is something wrong when you are approaching your twenties and you are wearing super tight black jeans, some shirt that says "i beat your mom in mario kart" or "tell the voices in my head to shut up" smokin cigarettes till you have lung cancer and 5 piercings on your face.

Way to go.. youre so different. good luck landing yourself a nice paying job, a good looking and intelligent wife, 2.5 kids, 4 bedroom house in surburbia. Like i said, we all have different goals in life and meanings of what success actually is. You would be the type of person that desires money. Money is merely just a physical object to me and gives me no satisfaction. I could care less about anything that is physically there.  You, on the other hand, are obviously much more concerned of materiaIistic objects.  This is obvious because you judged somebody for wearing tight jeans instead of analyzing the person's true inner self.

What success means to me is living a life full of great experiences and adventures while meeting people of different backgrounds. The last place I would want to live would be in a 4 bedroom house in suburbia. 

By the way...its not possible to grow up. I will always be in the realm of becoming

Yeah I LOVE sex, but there comes a time in your life when you realize that sex is supposed to have an emotional level to it, and when you realize that (which you obviously haven't) it is 100x better. And the girls you bros. fuck, yeah they are pretty hot, but who the hell can't get with them, personally it is much hotter when at least a little chase occurs- not 'you're pretty hot, let's fuck'. And half the time you guys prey on the girls who have been there the longest, are by far the drunkest, and most likely the sluttiest.
     There is no way you can defend the 'bros.' unless you yourself are one. Also in one of your other posts you said something like 'kids who pick fights, sometimes feel sorry', well that's just fucking great after you guys have beaten the shit out of someone; what do they do apologize after that, it doesn't matter if they feel sorry they just shouldn't pick fights.

You sound really immature, not just from this,  you fight with your little brother over the internet, so I am asking how old are you? because you sound like a total prick, who I probably wouldn't give the time of day to.
