How do you de-interlace footage

on a vx-2000? im using imovie and i wanna get rid of the lines.

Export it as any .mov and it should de-interlace it...

I dunno that's what I did when I made ramped slomos in after effects and it came out deinterlaced. Looked pretty weird mixing it into my interlaced footy but I couldn't figure out how to export it in the right quality...After Effects is weird like that
