Volkl Wall lengths (177 +185) vs. K2 measurements...

Looking at picking up some Volkl Walls. The only ones left in stock at local shop are the 177s. anyone know how Volkl measures their skis compared to K2 or other manufacturers?
I've been riding 179 K2s in the past and they are right on the borderline of being too short. If the 177 Volkls are close to that, it's probably fine, but since Volkl also offers 185s I'm trying to figure out if the 177 are measured shorter (i.e. they would be the same as a 172-174 K2).
Any experience?

I'm pretty sure that k2's advertising length is the actual effective edge not total length of the ski so they are actually longer than they say they are if that helps any

All compines use centemeters to measure there skis and as far as i know a centemeter is the same no matter what company uses it. If you are over 6 feet tall i would deffinetly get the 185's because at true ceter mount it doesnt really make a huge difference. I have the 177's and im 6 feet exactly if i didnt get hooked up from the rep i probably would have grabed the 185s.

heh. yeah i'm aware of how units of measurement work.
what i meant is that different companies measure different things.... some measure the length including the curve of the tips, some not, etc, etc etc. people have measured out rossi scratches at 5-6cm less than stated length, etc.
so i'm trying to figure out if a volkl wall 177 is actually closer to 174 or to 180.
i'm 6' feet even. i'd get the 185s in a heartbeat but the nearest place with them in stock is charging 480 damn euros. i can get a hookup on the 177s for 310, hence debating it.

i have the 177 walls, and i also have 176 t-halls, volkl runs short, my 176 armada's are bigger....get the 185's!

my 185 karmas are the same lenght as my buddies k2 179 seths..
