utah big mtn. skiing

I am taking a trip out to salt lake this year and I was wondering which mountain near salt lake has the best powder/big mountain skiing. I dont really care about the terrain parks, I'm going out there for powder, which I never have in CT. Any help would be appreciated.

i have friends who've skied in Alta, and Powder Mnt. Also, a friend who lives in Park City.. They are all pretty awesome i think... you will find some pow wherever you go... id stick with Alta though.

Snowbird/Alta have the sickest terrain and are very close to salt lake. Snowbasin is also worth hitting because of it's vertical and awesome lifts.

Don't waste your time at Powder Mountain, trust me. If you gotta choose b/w Park City and Canyons go for Park City and ride the Jupiter Lift all day.

utah is awesome. When are you going? I went last year and we just booked a flight out on valentines day for this year, so excited. There wasnt much pow last year, which sucked so I didnt get the whole utah expericence. hopefully this year will be better. I'm going to Park City, canyons, deer valley and maybe alta/snowbird. Last year, I thought Canyons had the best bc

snowbasins pretty tight, underrated, but at least when i was there, overpriced... not a ton of steeps though as i recall... but that top gondola deal was closed cause they were prepping for the olympics... i doint know... i heard the canyons were pretty sick, and park citys park is obviously pimp.

I just moved out to salt lake and from everyone I talk to they say Alta is the best.

There is nothing better than getting first tracks back on Mineral Basin in Snowbird. It is exquisite. And unless you want to pay 70 bucks for shitty skiing, don't go to PC. PC and Canyons have a good park, but their overall terrain is shit in my opinion. Snowbird and Alta are way better ideas. They both have awesome pow and terrain, and the bird has really been stepping up their park. But if your in for the pow, come to Alta or the Bird.

alta is good, snowbird is best, park city has teh best park, and if u wanna charge all day go to snow basin

Good spots:

1. park city, be the first ones up the jupiter chair.....there is 10000 lines to take from there

2. any bc in alta is good on a powder day

3. deer valley, up around cataract, if you ski past that all the way to the rope, there is a TINY skinny chute, but holds beautiful snow

so are there any places with night skiing, because i will have a half a day to night ski after a college tour, and ill have 2 other full days, judging by what you guys are saying, i might go to alta/snowbird one day and park city the other, im gonna be there on xmas day and 3 days after that

Oh the good times I've had at the Beav, My bro went to USU, so i'd go ski with him up there. For night skiing, Brighton has their whole park lit.
