No, they merely predicted that it would be the end of an age. At 2012 time dilation becomes extremely rapid and multiple realities are spawned at a rate exceeding even the number of sentinent beings in the universe. You must choose your reality and prepare for the coming shift by seeking the truth of your existance.

There are tons of people with super short snowblades. It is all very European. Racers flock to short sticks in mass after a change in snow consistancy and materials gives them a 0.000001% advantage over those who did not make the switch. Those with longer skis continue to dominate all events however, because they generally have more nuts.

There are devoted followers of the newschool spirit, which in some ways has become oldschool, but nonetheless, NS lives on and fuels this subculture (which should answer an earlier question as well).
