Glove with thumb splint? - Does it exist?

Someone made mention to me of a ski glove that has a like built in thumb splint to stop skiers thumb.  Does this actually exist because I can't find it anywhere on the internet. And if you know of it, please give a link or google-able name. Thanks.

is skiers thumb when you drag your thumb on the snow after a like sketchy landing? cause i did that twice yesterday and it sucks

its a painfully inflamed thumb usually caused by pole straps i think. i get it almost permanently now so i just tape up my thumb with medical tape.

try snowmobile gloves, sounds stupid, but they have special ones that make it so your thumb doesnt go back cuz that is natural when you are holding throttle and you get sore fingers from that

so if you dont wanna be ghetto and make your own then maybe look into a pair of those

I get it all the time when I fall off rails. suuuuucks. I remember my first time getting it when I was trying  a rainbow rail. yard sale on that one. I still suck at them haha.

i broke my thumb 2 seasons in a row, and i have skiers thumb right now.  i tried looking for this exact glove, but it did not exist.  the only way to prevent skiers thumb is to avoid opening your hand during a fall.

The technical term is GAMEKEEPERS THUMB and it involves tearing the UCL. You will know it is fully torn if you go to take off your goggles and your thumb falls away like it is no longer attached. Yoy cannoth pick up a beer or touch your pinter finger with any pressure.

KOMBI makes a glove with a thumb brace built in...at least they did so a few years ago. I tore my ICL a few years ago comming of a rail and catching my hand between the ice and my hip. Surgery and a few weeks off snow...good as new

Word. I partially tore mine last year. Sooo painful, I couldn't use my left hand for like a week. I thought it was a broken bone but there was nothing on the xray. I didn't realize it at the time but I had torn that ligament.

If you keep tearing it eventually you might get it to the point where you need surgery. Luckily I haven't hurt it yet this year, but if I do I will prob go to my doc and have a thumb splint prescribed. That way my insurance will cover it. It happens to skiers and football players a lot, fucking annoying injury to get.

When I tore mine it was painless  - just POP and when I went to take my goggles off, My thumb just felt like it "fell away" - it was gross, I could bend it all over the place like it was no longer attached

They call it gamekeepers thumb because people used to starin that ligament when snapping the necks of rabbits witht their hands

Go to a good physio and have them make a splint for you. Here's what I've been using since I tore mine. It's fine without the velcro strap once it's in my glove. It's been over a year now and it's feeling strong so I rarely wear it now.

i went to a medical supply store and got a thumb brace thing, ill post pics eventualy and  I fell a lot skiing and I didn't get skiers thumb at all.  It fits in my glove and doesn't affect my holding onto the pole or hurts. When I fell I could feel the pressure but It stopped it from really getting messed up or really hurting at all.  So it works.  If there was a glove made I would definitly buy it tho but for now I'm thankful.

actually kinda looks like this and fits under the glove and works.
