DAMN! They're so uncomfortable... I spent my whole night last night in the Emergency Room at Providence. They took me into this tiny FREEZING cold room and then told me to change into just that damn 'gown' that's open in the back. It didn't even open in the MIDDLE of the back, but off to the left side, which was even more inconvenient. I was allowed to keep my undies and socks on. They left this skimpy little 'blanket' that was all scratchy and felt like sleeping with crinkley paper. I ended up taking my coat and the pillow I brought (I was hurting so bad that I had to lean over on a pillow to ease the pain at least a tiny bit) and putting them over me to try to stay warm. I had a fever, too, so that made me even colder! I had six different nurses and doctors come in to perform different tests on me, and when the X-ray guy wheeled me down the corridors to the X-Ray room, these two goth lesbian chicks whistled at me and said I was pretty... In the X-Ray Room, I had to stand up against this thing and then lay down on this REALLY cold really hard table so they could take pictures, and the doctor and I joked about this guy who had had a sex change who was in the obituaries the other day. I was wheeled back and another nurse gave me this stuff to numb my throat and stomach, so I couldn't swallow and I felt so bleh.

Anyway, the point of this thread was to talk about how uncomfortable hospitals are... I guess it makes sense, though, considering more money should go towards the meds and whatnot, but DAMN doctors are getting SO greedy. Share your hospital experiences if you'd like... I'm bored and I can't do anything

what was wrong with you? why were you in the hospital? anyway, my hospital visit was fine, but i was also unconceous for most of the time. I had to wait a little bit, but other than thta it was fine... but i wasnt awake so i wouldnt know.

Oh... my acid reflux flared up really bad and was raising hell in my stomach. They thought it was appendicitis, so yeah. They were also taking the X-rays for my scoliosis and my hip problems

Oh yeah, and you have to wait FOREVER, and the controler that raises and lowers the head and footboard things of the hospital beds was going haywire which just hurt my tumtum more, and AHHH it sucked. I hate when they say, 'yep, there's nothing I can do for you, I'm sorry' like they mean it and shit and then give you a little pat on the head and send you on your way. I guess I'm going in for a CT scan tomorrow. Yay.

Hey! I have Acid Reflux too! But yeah, hospitals generally suck. I once was in a hospital for an extended period of time (almost a month) but it ended up being not so bad aside from the terrible food and noise. I had an Xbox and a vcr so I did a lot of that, plus electronic yahtzee. I also had a hot roomate for a week or so of the time, that was nice.

ive only been to hospital once to get sticjes andit was empty, it was warm the had HUGE fish tanks in the lobby that were tight, the nurse i had was cool and the buy who stiched my finger was hella cool too the whole thing took like 30-40 minites waiting included. i don't know maybe seattles weird.

i used to be in the hospital every now and again when i was younger but not anymore mostly just when my parents are there the food blows but i did spend 6 hours in the mammoth hospital last spring that wasnt too fun i pretty much sat there and waited the whole time for xrays and ct scans and shit and i was in a lot of pain and i was wearing my long underwear so i was super uncomfy yup and then when i left they gave me sweat that were to small so i looked all retardo and stuff and i couldnt walk so yeah it sucked

i woke up from surgery and had to wait on this crappy lil bed for 2 and a half hours. my right foot kept fallin asleep the were druggin me so much. and then i puked cause of the medicine. finally fell asleep but every hour they would check my pulse and computer stuff then i would wake up again. then iraq war started so it was an intense night.

I have that acid reflux crap too. I have to take pills everytime I think it might act up, and it's sooo expensive.

But, I've had all good hospital experiences. My dad works there, and so he'll usually go out and buy normal, good food and have them give it to me. Also, they gave me popcicles when I had my tonsils out. The rooms are really cold though, and the beds are hard. I don't get the deal with that. IT's not like they don't have enough money to buy better beds.

yeah dude i fuckin hate hospitals man, they make you wait sooooo long and they are so uncomfortable and there's like sick people everywhere, it's not my favourite place to go man

I went for magior chest surgrey and was in there for 4 days it sucked. When i woke up from a 8 hour surgrey i started to throw up and sence all my ribs, muslces and tendons where all cut it hurt like a bitch. Then i figured out i had a cathader. Also im prety sure the nurses where takeing my Morphine cuse all i felt for 4 days was pain, and then the 10 or so weeks of have all your ribs broken.

One time I went to the whistler hospital cuz I hurt my ankle. I hadn't dried out my boots or washed my socks all season, so my feet smelled really bad,and 3 hot chicks were helping their hot friend who had a concussion in the bed next to me, and they were like 'what's that disgusting smell' and then my buddies and I were all like 'yo those are my feet, can we have your phone numbers' and they were all like 'Noooooo, you smell...' and then they left. We left later and I got some Subway for being a good boy and not crying.

The best was the time I wrecked dirt jumping and was in shock with a bloody face, broken nose and some other shit wrong with me, and I waited for 5 hours. That sucked,especially cuz shock can kill you. oh yeah go hospitals

I got a concussion playing 'touch' football on asphalt. Well it turned out not to be very much touch, and before I knew it i was on the ground not remembering anything. I asked my friend what the day was like 10 times in 5 minutes. I dont even remember going to the hospital, I actually didnt believe my mom when she told me the first time

haha, i went in to have this titatium stick taken out of my bone (from when i broke my femur back in Feb. '01) last august, and i woke up from surgery, and the NO2 gas makes me sick, so i threw up about 10 times over the course of the next 12 hours....... it sucked. but they kept microwaving my blankets to keep me warm, so that was cool. and the food was actually good.

me and a friend stole a wheelchair from the hospital last year. Its extra wide, has an IV rack and a oxygen tank holder. its pimp.

Sarah, I'll agree that hospitals are not a fun place to be, but as far as hospital doctors becoming more and more 'greedy', you're dead wrong. Doctors these days are paying out the ass for malpractice insurance, and it's nearly impossible for any of them to exist outside of the hospital setting. My dad works with an independant institute where he's a doctor, and it is not cheap for him or any of the other doctors to work there and keep the place running. They're far from greedy.

actually, i really wasn't out of it. i took no pain meds for this surgery, and i turned down vicadin multiple times, to the suprise of the nurses. the food was good when i ate it, but it was horrible when i had to puke it back out...... god damn anestetics, the make me sooooo sick...
