At the beginning of this season I was fitted in a pair of Salomon Impact 9's. Custom foot bed and all. Loved them so much. At times they felt tight in the heal but over the best fit I've ever had.
3 weeks ago, went to our montain and it was super busy so we parked farther away from the hill from usual. For some reason we decided to put our boots on and walk ( I usually lug everything to the chalet and put the boots on there )
By the end of the day, my right heel was pretty sore. My girl went to get the car so I wouldn't have to walk.
Took the boots off, and I had a round blister a good inch and a quarter wide, and the skin had broken off. Hurts like a bastard. Tried skiing the next week, did one agonizing run, and drove back home for 2 hours.
I gave it a couple weeks to heal and took tomorrow off to ski. Just put the boot on as a test and it kills. The blister hasn't heeled completely.
So now I'm going to the shop tomorrow instead.
What should I expect? Like I said I did a bit of a hike in these boots but I'd imagine in a good boot that shouldn't damage your feet.
Can they make the heal wider (assuming thats the right approach)
Should I demand a new pair?
What you you guys think?
