Replying to Anybody else's cholesterol high?
I got blood work done back in december over Christmas break and just got the results back, cholesterol: 227. Healthy is supposed to be under 199. I don't eat terribly, my diet usually consists of healthy cereal and OJ for breakfast, pasta/sandwich and a salad with milk for lunch and dinner. Most of it seems to be coming from my family history. My mom's a dietician and has been telling me to eat lots of fiber, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, etc., which are all the obvious options. And more exercise of course. Kind of a pain in the ass to have this problem at 18, but I suppose it's better to discover this now compared to when my dad did, at about 35. My question is, is there anyone else in a similar situation that has any tactics they've found? Maybe certain foods that are really good for lowering cholesterol that I don't know about? Thanks a lot guys.
