What should I do with my life?

I'm a senior in high school and school just has never been my thing. The shit I learn just seems pointless and I have no motivation.
I did all that applying to college stuff, but I'm really not into going to college because either I'll drop out or get some shitty job I hate
I've been thinking about going to the Caribbean to work on a sail boat for private tours, but I have no sailing experience and no connections there.
Money also isn't too big of a thing for me. Just as long as I can eat and have a little shack to live in (as long as its nice weather). I just want to be happy and I dont think college will do it for me.
Don't say prostitution because I would just go into porn if I really wanted to. (not claiming)
And no drug dealing unless I'm in South America. the big times

Dude walk to the beat of your own drum, not the establishment. If you really think that sailing is your calling go after it and don't listen to other people pressuring you to do things like college. Good luck dude I hope you find whatever it is you're looking for.

go work for a cruise line... you are basically slave labor... but you make tons of bank and get to see the world. When I was on my cruise to Alaska... it was all 22 year olds and under working on the ship...from all over the world... Romania, Checz, Russia, bomb ass girls too. Dont think you will be automatically dumped on some ship to work... these cruise lines have there own lodges all over the world, beautiful locations. Dorm like living, but I wish I would have heard of it. Looks adventurous with some hard work... nothing wrong with that.
or go become some rich old ladys cabanna boy.

yeah high school sucks but in college it gets better you start learning things that actually go towards your future give it a chance whats the worst thing that will happen? you'll be over qualified for a job? just think about it alot cause its a lot harder to get back to where you are now

Well don't take advice from NSG for one..a career is something you need to figure out on your own, taking your personal lifestyle into account
If money isn't the object, Identify what you love doing - then do everything you can to make your mark in that particular industry.
You still may need to do a course though, to get qualified, or at least give yourself a getter opportunity

check out colorado mountain college...they have a lot of different/unconventional majors and i think some are 2 year degrees, so you wouldn't be in school that long

you don't know you'll get a job you'll hate. You don't have to go into boring stuff like business or communications. Go to school, take a bunch of diverse interesting classes, figure out what you like to do and then go for it. You're in no way guaranteed a shitty desk job that you hate.

btw: College/University is incomparable to High School..
University has been one of the best experiences i've ever had.

The reality is that its very rare to find a job that you throughly will enjoy, thats just the way life works. So the obvious solution is to work towards a job that puts you close to something you enjoy. For example, if skiing is you big thing, find a job somewhere in the industry. That could be anywhere from a resort manager to an engineering technician.

this film writer i know dropped out of high school and drifted for 6 years. he went back, got his degree, and went to college. while everybody else was partying he was studying. 6 years after that his first movie came out.
i was talking to him about stuff like this and he said don't hurry into a decision about your life, you can always go back to school later, but if you are slingshotted into something you don't feel right with, you'll wake up one day and say "what the fuck did i do to myself?"
point being there is you have to find out what you like and go for it. don't let the mold push you into things.
also, at 18 you're dropped out of your parents health insurance, that is unless you're inrolled in college, then the coverage extends until you reach age 21. that causes some of the rush for college.
Don't think you can't get those connections down south. My friend henry enrolled in a college course, and sailed in the carribean for 3 months for class. he's now legal to be in the crew of any seafaring vessel. He is also getting his scuba license, so he's going down south to lead underwater tours for cruise ships.
Anything's possible if you actually go for it. Just look into colleges for something active and fun that you could live your life by. don't let people tell you what you have to do, and don't let them try to shoot down your dreams, because nomatter what anybody says, they are possible.

ive had simliar thoughts and sometime in my life i wanna live a haggard lifestyle where what i do is more enjoyable than how i get there or what i make
i either wanna be a sailor down in key west and work on the fishing boats that people can charter (inspired by captain ron) or work on a mountain out west and shred powder alot of the year (with a really long and untrimmed beard)
whatever path you choose, godspeed

Just do whatever you feel is right for you, whatever other people may say. It's your life, you should be happy with it. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
