08 seth pistols falling apart?

alright so i got some 08 seth pistols with jesters on them, and i couldn't be happier with the way they ride. However, the things are just falling apart. the top transparent plastic layer (i've been told its not the topsheet, but i'm not entirely sure) has pretty much completely peeled off one of my tips so that i had to cut it off with a knife, and the same thing is happening all up and down the ski. I've had boards with the same sidewall construction and whatnot and i have never had this problem. i mean bite marks are normal, but this shit is getting a little out of hand. these are the nicest (and definitely the most expensive) skis i've ever had, and i'm kinda bummed they aren't lasting. I have been taking real good care of them too. anybody know whats up? i'll post pics soon and if you could tell me if you think k2 would be willing to do anything about it, i would really appreciate it. peace.

Ok, so I am also having this same problem, same year ski.  I called K2 about a week ago.  I was told to go to a K2 dealer and file a warranty claim and tell the shop person doing it to tell K2 that you will not be sending the skis in till the end of the season.  That is what I was told by K2.  That is what I did.

yea i have the 07 seths and the topsheets are soft like butter they just get sliced up so easy

dude all sandwhich skis chip, it doesn't affect the performance of the skis, and sandwhich rides better than cap, so just learn to accept it.

my hippy stinx are doing the saame thing so im going to try and contact k2 about them. however unless you really gash your skis water wont get into them

you can't chip a sdewall to the core, its wrapped in mad fiberglass and resin glue and other shit. never happened to me and i've been chipping sidewall since '93, homes

The topsheets and sidewalls are certainly chipping rather easily on mine, but that in no way effects the integrity of the ski.

This is the first negative thing I've heard about Seths ever.  What you're describing sounds similar to the problem with the original invader model.  There was a problem with the glue vs paint/dye used for the graphics and the top plastic layer peeled which really didnt do anything structurally to the ski, just cosmetically.   I'm sure they will warranty them if this is the case which means you get 2 functional skis for the price of one.  Not a bad deal if youre not too concerned with looks.
