For some reason i can whip around 270's off pretty well on pvc and then when i get to the mountain i can't get shit. i can get bs and fs 270's out on the pvc most the time and sometimes when im sliding unnat too. not every time on command or anything, but a lot. do you guys think there is a reason for this? any tips? has this happened to any of you guys? also while i made a thread, i might as well ask for some 270 on tips. i got it on boxes at my mountain, then all of a sudden i can't get it again on the same box a few weekends later. im going to try it on the pvc rail in my friends backyard today. just go in normal, pop then spin, look around with my head and spot the rail, land. sound right?

Is your PVC rail thinner than your rails at your home mountain?
if so, it might be 'cause you can grip them better

i have the same problem as you i can do it almost everytime at home on my pvc rail but at the mountain i cant do shit. I tried it on boxes first but then i figured out its eaiser of rails so i tried it off a double barrel hand down rail and can only get 180 half the time?

270 off- what everyone else said is right, if the rails wider its hader do them. you'll need to jump more rather than push yourself round using the rail. it's also harder to them on down rails than flat, i don't know what you've got at your park though.
270- i'm pretty sure there are better tecniques for this but i'll tell you how i do them. i jump high and spin fast but i look at the box as long as possible before i turn my head round to spot it for the landing, looking at the box is what keeps me above it instead of drifting off to one side. i doubt that'll help you much but it's the best i can do.

pvc is easier because you have more grip

probably two reasons
1. more grip on pvc
2. ur probably more comfortable on ur backyard rail than the one at the mountain

everythings easier on stuff youve built yourself, and plus youve probably had ALOT more hits on ur backyard rail then the one at the mountain, and i always find stuff at the mountain (well hill) slides alot faster then my stuff so i haveta get used to that like every time

i think that the pvc is softer then the lexan that they use on the mountains rails to so your edges will bite into the pvc a lot more then on the metal. just keep practicing on the mountain and you will get it. its more of a feel thing then anything else since you have them down pat in your backyard.

yo thanks for all the help. the rails at smuggs are definitely a little wider. plus the pvc i've been hitting is single barrel. i just have to practice more and get that feel for it like i have on pvc rails. on pvc i feel like i can just huck my self around really quickly and easily. a good 270 off feels so clean and sick. like when you can feel your edges applying the right pressure. my edges definitely catch more on the pvc. once i practice more at my hill i should get a better feel and technique.

if the rail at your mountain is wider it will be harder to angle your for the right push to 270 of so you might have to try at the end to get that lean at the end
