So some fun things i found out yesterday...

I was talking with our rossi rep about whats coming out next year...

the first and best annoucement, all scratch bindings will have the metal fks style toe piece, only side to side release, with a fixed teflon afd. thats standard for the 10 12 14 and 18.

also, theres a new ski being released. super fat reverse double sidecut and double camber. 150 at the tip, 115is under foot. think pontoon meets arg on the sidecut, reverse sidecut down the ski, with a traditional sidecut under foot. also rockered tip and tail, cambered underfoot. flex is gonna be slightly stiffer than the bents.

the ghetto pros and brigade pros are being made into a full size run to replace the bling and blaster, and theres going to be a full 7 ski twin lineup all with a different artist doing the topsheet. u can see a bunch of the designs at evogear, as well as preorder the skis replacing the ghetto and brigade.

i get the sneaking feeling the rossi is ridiculously trying to kick it to the next level and take a stand in the freeski world, theyve made a few quality skis in the past, but now its a new world for them

Side to side release isn't a good thing. That will kill your knees in the park and anywhere else. Fuck that's dumb.

I hope they decide to keep what works and go back to the original FKS binding.  There weren't many issues with them and everyone seems to like them.

i wish they would bring back the fks heel. bah, either way, all metal reinforced, i wanna see it, mark said as soon as he has models, he'll be in to show me (his dad owns my shop and he lives like 20 minutes away) im just amped for the new ski lineup

ever mounted and tested the binding? from what i know the binding was a big bitch for shops to work with but yea such a sweet binding for us.

Before you get all excited, heres some pricing info

S7 at only $2499 a set should sell well.
S6 $2199
S5 $1399
S4 $1399
S3 $799
S2 $699
S1 $499

These are probably including bindings, and are in Australian Dollars, so multiply by around 0.9 to get US

yea, mounted mine. worst finger biter binding ever, and bending the brakes was ridiculous.

That reverse sidecut-camber ski you were talking about sounds like the S7.

word. all metal side to side is ok for 155 and 185 but i like vertical release on my 120's for park.  yes the binding is a bitch for shops i guess and yes the breaks are difficult but there's a reason so many kids put up with it. The new bindings are heavy shit and the giant heel block creates a dead spot in the ski.

I used to think having a small mounting surface was the bomb... 4 ripped out heel pieces later I really don't give a shit if like 3 cm of flex is sacrificed.

I bent mine in about 15 minutes.  It's pretty easy.  Who cares how hard they are to mount?  Once they are on they are sick.  It's worth some work.
