I think who gives a fuck. I don't wear Burton and never will, but that's cause it's just not that great of gear and doesn't look really cool either. And Burton is a gay ass company too.
But I'm not gonna go choke a kid and shoot him cause he's wearing Burton gear.

I have a Burton Jacket because it was a sick color/design and was incredibly cheap and on sale, and I like it. I have no qualms about buying a "snowboard" jacket. Not to sound like a hippy, but we're all on the same mtn and in the same parks, but we can't "share" gear? What about LIB Tech skis?

Who the hell cares? Snowboarders wear Siver and Orage. This thread is so juvenile and pointless. Outerwear is outerwear, brand doesnt matter, its quality that makes the difference.

I have some Burton pants. The only thing I don't like is that they don't fit very big over the boot like a ski pant.

I have a suit of Burton stuff that looks good, is well made, is quite waterproof and I didn't pay all that much for. I really like it. I don't think much of the company, but finding good outerwear is difficult enough as it is; it's not like skis or poles or even bindings to some extent, where you could get something that would work well for you from any of a half dozen companies.

I got a pair of Burton Gore mittens, they are ridiculously warm. I rock some 686 Smarty gear which is amazing as well, I do not think they are considered snowboarding only though. But, who cares, I am comfortable when I ride.

686 is so dope. Easily my favorite clothing company. I respect them so much for how they treat their customers and just how quality of a product they make.
But I put Burton on a much different level. I work in a ski shop and see the stuff every day. It sells like crazy because of what Shaun White did for the company. I can almost gurantee this is why Burton sells so well. But when it comes down to it, burton really isn't a well made product. Its flimsy, poorly stitched, and I personally don't like the look of it. So as a consumer I choose to not support a company like that. But if you like the stuff then wear it. Who really cares? Stop thinking about how you look and more about having fun. That's all that matters.

It's not a matter of hating; it's that I want to support the freeskiing industry. Brands like Siver and Aeryx are gone because the consumer base wasn't there, and I don't want to see that happen. Sponsors are the driving force in action sports. The more sponsors available to give money to athletes, events and film makers the better off the sport is.
I wish I didn't feel bad about buying from boarding brands, but I can't help it. I want skiing to thrive.
