Is this a good cam? and input?

First off, its the GZ HD3.  I googled it and didn't see anything that stood out that made it too great, but that might be b/c i didn't find much.  I suspect its an SD cam.  JVC has, as far as I know, never been too great on cameras like Sony and Canon have been.

It shoots HD on a hard disk, but hard disk cameras (Especially the evario) have formatting problems with certain editing softwares. I'd be careful with hard disk cameras in general.
