alright im looking to get into freestyle skiing but i dont know anything about it. im a racer on my school team so i know how to ski but i need to learn how to hit jumps, rails etc. also would race skis work in the park? if not what are some good begginner park skis and what size. i ride 160s for my race ski i race gs and s? any suggestions
there are no "beginner" skis. But I suggest you check out the salomon line of park skis. Those are pretty price-point skis and decent for a beginner. Check out the foils or the thrusters, or the flyers if you're getting a shorter ski (it's a jr. ski).
Also, check out the link in my signature for some good tips.
yea man if u wanna get into park skiing you def want to get rid of ur racing skis. look into the k2 line. those skis are a bit stiffer than most so it wont be a huge transition from racing to freestyle. and if you have a backyard start there.
You will totally fuck up your race skis if you hit rails with them, plus they are heavy as shit. Go with a lower model solly or armada ski. Good for what you want.
I work at a shop and silencers arent a bad progressing park ski, might be rough for rails though. still stiff enough to ride all mountain. and as far as sizing goes. really whatever your comfy with, if you like it short stay short (around your chin). if you like long go for forehead (thats where I am with mine).
