the first appearance is a joke, u can wear a tshirt if you want. Plead not guilty, request to speak to a state appointed lawyer (free) or the DA...they will work something out then the next appearance the judge will basically just make the fine official, nothin serious bro, you'll be in and outta there in no time.

2 appearances for a speeding ticket? What a waste of public resources. Where i'm from you get booked, you either pay the fine or dispute it in court. Go in and be out in half an hour - case closed.
Isn't it assumed that he is pleading not guilty? Otherwise he would have paid the fine?
Was this a SERIOUS speeding infringement?

and are you disputing it? What do you hope to achieve by going to court?
My legal system may be a bit different to yours with matters like this

shit dude i thought we were talkin like 100 here. haha, somehow i got off with a 79 in a 55 earlier this year cuz my car registration was expired. ya makes no sense to me either but the cop was chill.
heres my advice, dont do what my friend did, which was...
show up in street cloths and when the judge asked him how he was he said "hella chillin, you?"

You have the otion to mail in your plea or go to court, sit around and plea there.
They then give you a chance to speak to the officer and he could say he'll reduce it but in the end it is up to the DA what happens.
But since you have a lawyer don't worry about it

actually your best bet is to set up an appointment with the DA. I very rarely even have to come up with a story. They are so busy that they pretty much say "this is what I can cut it down to. Take it or leave it" If you are guilty with no way around it, it's the way to go.
