Nashoba Valley

Im guessing your not from here so please dont go to nashoba. seriously it sucks. they have 5 trails mabye. and for a park they have absolutly nothing. wachusett is bigger the have like 22 trails but they usually have a really good park. the lines get long there but its manageable. if you want to ski drive the hour and go to wachusett. i live near waltham and you can always do day trips up to NH or VT. Okemo in VT is prolly a lil under 2 1/2 hrs umm loon in NH is about 2 same with sunapee all those places are sick. okemo has like 118 trails and a sick park. there are a couple mountains closer like Gunstock which isnt huge but its a fun place. there are a lot of other sick places but you just have to be willing to drive.

oh and i ski at sunapee most of the time and its really not that far and the park is always sick so go there along with wachusett

Nashoba isnt absolutely terrible, it would be fun to session at night or something, mike the head park guy is trying to make it better, but for skiing, just dont go there, u get about 3 turns in and your at the bottom. WaWa is pretty decent. not huge but has a pretty good park. Id definately look into heading to okemo/sunapee/waterville/loon if you really wanna ski and have fun.

grew up in waltham, worst town ever, anyways, yeah chuset is closest, but too many lil kids, long lines and the trails are relatively flat, sunapee and gunstock are both about an hour and a half drive, sunapee has decent trails and a good park, gunstock is rather flat. next up you have waterville loon and cannon. all 3 are about 2 hrs, cannon has good trails and backcountry skiing, lot's of powder cause it's high up in the notch. loon has a great park, probably the best park of all the above mentioned, and decent trails. waterville is somewhat similar to loon, without as many park features.

I grew up on the North Shore of Boston and unless this is for night skiing I would not recommend either mountain.  It's worth the extra time to head up to North Conway, NH or VT.  I went to school in VT, but a bunch of my friends that stayed around Boston used to get the Threedom Pass for access to Loon,  Waterville, and Cranmore.

I work at Nashoba, and as a fellow skiier, I am telling you to please do not ski here. Nashoba is a grand total of 214 feet tall, with about 5 or 6 real trails (the website claims 12 or so, but they count the two bunny runs and cut-offs as trails.). Its fun to go to cause I live so close, and its open at night, but paying for Nashoba is just not worth it at all. The only reason I actually go there, is because I can ski for free. Wachusett is 100x better, and day trips to Loon are the usual. Nashoba is far too expensive and far too small to be considered a decent skiing experience.

I'm from the Berkshires in MA, so I'm not "used" to huge mountains. I ski at Jiminy Peak, so it'll be cool to go somewhere else.

go to a school in vermont if you want to ski the east. i grew up skiing wa wa and sunapee. and now the same drive takes me to jay peak.

wachusett pwns nashoba. def spend the extra 30 mins and go to wawa

Yeah I teach in the adaptive program there.  Def not worth it if u have the time to go to Wawa.  The trails are not at all long and Wawa usually has just (well kind of) enough length to make u feel like u got up to speed and somewhat satisfied, again, somewhat so. 

However I was just there Sunday and they had about a 25 ft. jump set up which some kids said was around 40 a few days before.  So def be on the look out if ur itching and dont have a ton of time. 

Also, just go to Loon or Wateriville if ur considering going to Wawa during the day.  Wawa at night is alright but it kind of gets like the Natick Mall (ull know about that too soon) with a bunch of horrible teen snowboarders.  Still pretty nice vibes at all the places, its not like the NY get the heck off of my skis attitude u find at a place like Stratton or Mt.  Snow.
