Dude, the weather is fucked up here in Montreal, so Val St-come isnt ready with his big spine yet, so we would like to travel near Vermont or arround QC to get the biggest jump we can. If we travel to VT, where is the best park??? thx

Strattons park is primo right now, with some legitimately large jumps and a great rail setup.Ticket price is the only problem.

killington has like 10 footers - they don't care about the park at all - i'm really pissed about this right now because it is so terrible and i just realized how bad the park really is and how good it could be - all i want to do is work on hitting bigger jumps because i have skied at killington my entire life and the biggest jump they have set up to the public was 3 years ago - its so hard to learn new tricks and grabs when you hit mini park jumps
and now with the thaw they are definitely not going to try to build anything bigger

Dude, hate to break it to you but Killingtons days with a decent park with decent jumps are over. My friend builds them there and he said the head dude of all on-mountain activity is basically a control freak, his name is jeff. The park crew wanted like a couples sheets of ply wood to build rails and what not but jeff wouldnt let them buy it for no reason at all. Also, When killington builds park, they don't think about people like us, they think about people who come up for the weekends from new jersey and shit who love to hit the "terrain park" and break there asses on the jumps. The idea of watching a saftey video to obtain a park pass has been brought up many times but Jeff just wont have it. So, now killington has to make 10 foot jumps, no gaps to rails, only put up small ass rails and leave the huge gnarly ones they built sitting there like they have been for the past 3 years. Park crew also wants certain trails to put its parks on but jeff wont have that either because he is a control freak. I thought under new management, the park this year was going to be good since Powdr also owns alpine and park city, but i guessed wrong. So, killingtons days of big jumps are over for good.

^^They can't use those rails, because they built them, and if someone gets hurt on them and sues, their insurance won't do anything about it, because the rails aren't made by a company which can guarantee anything.

Avila has a sick park this year. and its 40 mins from montreal. 5 jumps (from 10-15 to 35 feet i think). Bunch of sick rails and boxes. check out mssi.ca on the avila tab to see everything that's going to be put up.

today at bristol it was 60 degrees. I skied in shorts. We also have no big jumps, but we do have some great grass gaps. Also, Giray dadali switch 7's baby jumps like nothing.

its decent. park starts out with a stair case, and then splits to a spine that used to be good but now the melt has it a little bad but its still fun to hit. then you go down and on the right jump line is this jump thats pretty weak, not much of a table (20 feet from lip of jump to "landing", build a fuckin table god damnit), but if you hit it right and land on the landing its good. then way at the bottom still on the right is a decent sized jump that needs quit a bit of speed. i'm guessing about 40 feet, but its a small lip and you only get about 5 feet of air, but its still a fun jump to bomb. the left jump lane is decent, it starts with this weird small jump with no table that kinda rolls down into a landing so its not much to do but thug air it. then you go to a biggggg ass jump that is impossible to hit, easily 40 feet to landing but the jump is so little and poppy its just not fun. then you hit the super duper feature redbull sponsered for a contest which is like a trap rail and trap box option with plexiglass in the middle. its pretty high up too and hurts to fall on. then you go down to the bottom and left to right you have 20 foot box, weird sideways house to grind on, and then barrel bonk and wall ride. not bad, but they jumps with lips need tables, and the jumps with tables need lips.

by the way, here is a video my homie Dave Faxon shot:
https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/videos/id/162899/search_string/stratton/
but...soon you should anticipate some dope LD footy on strattons park. On some sort of feature article. I drop heavy hints cause it comes soon.

Avila isn't what it used to be. Last year was a shitty year, but this year we had early snow and 2-3 big storms and the park isn't finished yet. The jumps were built only at the end of december and they are small (2-3 jumps that are 15-20 ft) and 2 medium (30-35 ft) but nothing that give serious air. They are also built in a way that the landings are almost at the same height as the kickers, meaning even if you hit the last jumps (30-35 ft) you don't really get any air. I miss the big jumps from 2-3 years ago, when the park moved from St-Sauveur to Avila.
I'll wait before buying my pass there next year, I'm pretty disapointed about what the park is becoming.
PS: If you like rails and boxes, then you'll enjoy Avila.

welcome to gore mountain!
we've proposed park passes like 10 times a year for the past 3 years, and nothing.
the biggest jump weve ever had was a 32 ft step down,
our biggest jib right now is a 16 ft flat box.

boltons park isnt that great. the jumps are small and the landings are steep and short. they got is professionally done and im not impressed at all. and dont tell me the rain and shitty weather made it shitty.
All times are Eastern (-5)
