Picture vs Video

a picture is artistic in how its shot and from the angle but at the same time if you give 3 editors clips of a skier chances are they will all be different and artsy...its a toss up

A picture speak a thousand words. It doesn't just capture a moment, it tells a story.

In a picture the little things count. You have one chance, one shot to make the scene show as much or as little as you want. It's more artistic. Composition is key.

Video concentrates more on the action in play and less about the little things.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

pictures are muchmore creative. i mean look atthe epics section of freeskier, and then watch a movie. thee is so much more in a picture. its nice to have the videos every year. butpictures can tell so much more

fuck pictures. video is fun filled and action packed. a video is a bunch of pictures, anyways, so if you want to look at a fucking picture, just press pause.. a-holes.

the difference is in manipulation. a picture can only be changed so much and even with those changes you cant do all that much. making video look good comes with the same strategies and then editing on top. so its pretty much the same thing with different inputs and such.

pictures make you think, videos think for you

I personally like videos better. I like looking at pictures but I guess vids are my thing. As long as they are good. Not some 11 year old production. I have seen many wakeboarding videos, along with skiing of course that have boggled my mind with their editing.

i dont no much on this shit but id say vidios, u gotta be just as creativ in taken t he shots as in pictures, like the loacation and shit. An example is in Skodo7s movie there is that shot where he videos at the car mirror and u see the skier in the mirror hitting a bridge rail.. that was sick then on top of thinking of creativ ways to film u also gotta edit the video, and there is tons of editing u can to to be original and make it looked dope...

i like vids more but photo's are tight too

Videos are more fun but Pictures more artistic and especially if you have a really good camera and lens. That actually applys to video cameras too. Hmm I don't know.

if your shooting with 16mm or any other non digital film then video is better but if ur shooting with a minidv and ur buddy is shooting stills on some all manuel pentax then stills are better

pics are dope and i like em, but its a lot easier for a rider to look good in a picture than on film, i think film offers a better display of a riders talent
