^ha sorry, i have no short term memory.
not to slob on my own mountain's d... but i love togg. it's special because it's still got that family vibe to it, but it's totally climbing the ranks in the list of NY mtns. this whole break from school, i've driven out there by myself EVERY DAY and if someone from my crew isn't there, then i can always find someone on a pair of twins to chill with.
lift tickets-
right now they are running $10/day tickets if you have your college id. that's pretty fucking sick. even if you want to get a seasons, through your school you can get discounts, or if they don't work with togg, you can still get a student pass, which i have for $175. you're good if you get that, just from being home for break, i've already gotten my moneys worth.
atmosphere-
togg is smaller but they dont cut corners. as i'll explain, they are really working at making features like those found in the terrain park more appealing. alot of the people who work there are locals, and usually are riding when not on shift- having the same passion for the mountain that season pass holders do. *food- while every cafeteria is getting killed with high prices, you'll have to cut corners on beer every so often to have $2-$3 for TogFries. Don't know what they are? you're missing out. probably some of the best seasoned french fries.. ever. the foggy goggle, the resturant found in the same building, has music, a bar, and good food. def a good way to end a date of skiing. get the make your own s'mores dessert, and you're sure to get boned after the date.
park-
from being a n00b rolling over takeoffs, i used to think park was so cool. though my skills have not improved much, the opposite is to be said about togg's In-Saanen terrain park (play on words for the various goat named trails.. google that shit). the dedication to the park is at an all-time high this year, and i don't see that passion deminishing anytime soon. while beats blare from speakers, you can choose among various rail and box jibs, with other features that circulate in and out during the season. a string of jumps can usually be found, as their size changes during the year, the fun factor remains the same. and it isn't even the locals who are taking notice. Tuckered Out Films and Meathead Films (over the last 2yrs) have both featured Toggenburg in their travels. (
www.tuckeredoutfilms.com www.lineskis.com ) with the meatheads recently coming on down, it seemed to be agreed that the 2-days jibbing at togg was some of the best/funnest times had yet this season.
events-
toggenburg held it's second annual october jam this year, entitled Hay Bails & Grind Rails, which again brought some big names. togg recognizes, just like you, that we can't wait until november for the snow to come to hit shit. by providing a place to jib and kill redbulls so early in the season, it's pretty obvious how much the clan of riders are loved by togg, and love togg back. and it doesn't end there. throughout the year you can find postings for railjams and big airs on the terrain link of
www.skitog.com. i'm pretty sure toggs one of the first and last mountains to hold events in the CNY area. the ways they manage to deal with the disgusting weather patterns that you can only find here, is amazing.
alright, it's 3am and i'm feeling like i need to work on getting an adequate sleep pattern back now that i've written a passionate lovestory about toggenburg. hit up my pictures and blogs for any more info on togg.
