Well I gave myself another one today. Fucking Pick N Shovel had the hardest landings in skiing history and fucking suckd. Everyone is now out at parties and here I am. 5th day since moving out here too. This blows. Wear a helmet kids, today I didnt because it was "too hot" and well fuck.

Good 'wear a helmet' promo. I'm going to tose my bucket on tomorrow (wasnt planning on it) because i've already had one major concussion and I don't nee another.

Helmets really are a great thing...

I mean, you never think you'll need them, and then something happens, so freakishly, that you never would have seen it coming.

I have to wear a helmet at this local skatepark or risk a huge ticket, and they're kind of a pain. Then, one day, out of nowhere, a board nails me in the back of the head, razor tail, takes a chunk out of the helmet. That would have been my scalp.

Skiing, on a rail, get lazy and screw up, head straight to the rail... No helmet, no bueno...

Wear a helmet kids.

Yea my helmet has saved my head sooooo many times. I never ski without it. Just the other day I had a really hard bail on a jump and landed on my face. Since my helmet has a visor it saved me from leaving most of my chin on the icy landing. It can be uncomfortable some times but i love that thing

I've gotten numerous concussions with a helmet on, i can only imagine if i had not been wearing one.

i fell into a tree well and smashed the back of my head into the trunk of the tree
cant imagin what my head would have been like if i wasn't wearing a helmet probaly caved in

and if you find your ski helmet to hot save up a little bit of money and buy a skate helmet when they go on sale at your local sell everything sport shop
could prabbaly get one for 20 or so bucks

yeah pick n' shovel did have awful landings the past few days... it was like pure ice with a tiny bit of snow over it haha so even with a smooth landing i felt like it sucked

I usually don't wear one but more often than not I'm just chillin and not really hittin many jumps/rails. When I'm tryin out new stuff I throw one on though.

One time I was boardin for like the first time, never really tried it. I decided to throw on a lid just in case. I was doin pretty well, makin it down the mountain and completely out of nowhere i caught an edge and flipped backwards and slammed my head on the ice. I hit it so hard I felt like I was just stunned on the ground for a minute while my senses cleared haha. Coulda been alot worse without that helmet.

Its just dumb not to wear a helmet. Theres no point. You aren't cool, youre dumb. My helmet has definitely prevented a few concussions over the years.

haha i believe the phrase it no pain, no gain, but w/e works for you

one time when i was trying to *cough* snowboard *cough* I tried to turn on some ice, but my board didnt catch so i slipped and whacked my helmutted head on the raw ice. I like couldn't get up for 1 minute or so then when I finally did I saw everything in a shade of yellow even though I wasn't wearing my goggles.

man that hurt

woo! too bad most of you don't realize most concussions are cause by your lower jaw (teeth) smashing against your upper jaw (teeth) so if you really want to prevent concussions wear a mouth guard, why do you think football players and hockey players (who wear cages) still wear a mouth piece, unfortunately if you're going over 15 miles per hour, your helmet doesn't really do shit except prevent lacerations

haha definitely not. I've been going well over 15 mph and eaten it really hard and i am positive my helmet has saved me from a lot more serious injuries

nope they did studies, it will prevent you skull from collapsing, but in instances of crashes over 15mph they found helmets did nothing more than preventing cuts and your skull from collapsing, but brain swelling is still just as bad as it is without the helmet, which if you get it bad enough, will kill you, if you wanna prevent a swollen brain wear a mouth guard like mikey wilson

i didn't wear a helmet all last season, then i went to COC and basically the only reason im probably not parapalegic right now is because of my helmet... i dropped around twelve feet down vertically upside down right on to my head. almost broke my back stilll....... but its all good my spine just kinks everytime i wake up
