Hi, i recentely reinstalled windows xp on this computer. After finishing the installation i looked at the hard drive and realized my bros program files still existed under my program files. How do i get it so that those program files translate into real programs and work on my computer without having to reinstall everything? I tried clicking on shortcuts and .exe
s but it didnt work. It said you must instal blah blah.

did u have windows xp on there before and you just reinstalled it? if so, those files are pretty much gone unless you save them on a floppy or other copying device, and manuelly put them into your programs. i made that mistake a few months ago and i lost everything

It's very unlikely they will work because the registry has probably been wiped with the fresh install
Did you install it on a clean partition or were there multiple?
Generally under a new install, even though the program files are still there often all the configuration files get deleted so the program becomes corrupt
You will probably need to reinstall the programs.
As said above, it's hard to say without seeing the computer
