Buses not starting up

So a couple years back some seniors disconnected the block heaters from all the buses.  And in the morning we didnt have school because they couldnt start the buses.  This was the first day of miderms.  Has anyone ever done this?  how cold does it have to be for a bus not to start up?  any suggestions?

two years or so ago it was so cold here (something like -30 or -40 WITH wind chill) that they couldnt start up any of the buses (ive heard rumors that the diesel wouldnt ignite, but i think thats total BS), so if you think that itll get get that cold where you are, then you wont even need to disconnect anything (no risk)

Depends on how well they upkeep the glowplug system, battery, starter...everything.

Although, I'd say that at about below -30*C, no diesel will start without being plugged in. My dad had a brand new Diesel F-350 that didn't start on such a day, so yeaaahh.

shit what is that in ferenheit? there was talk of unplugging the blocks and putting the cords into jars of water so they get frozen solid in there, that way even if the had time to plug them in and rewarm they would have to get them out of the ice first...

Some senior at our school slashed 350+ tires. We didn't have school but he got in some deep shit. The dumbass posted it on youtube too...

They took it off right after they realized who it was. The tires alone cost about $300 each and it's a felony because it's school property.

no... -40C and -40F are the same temperature so it is impossible to be -90.  -30C is -22F.

yeah at cold enough temps the desiel turns basically to a jelly like substance and it is hard to ignite.  this happens around 0 or -10 i think,  thats a guess on the temp tho
