Member input should be huge with this and I think that increasing its impact with the latest tweak of the system was a good idea.
I think it should go one step further though; Digg style. Have a tiny bar programmed in some sort of Ajax coding (To my understanding that is what would work) placed in the bottom corner of every post (and included in some fashion in other contributions to the site including reviews and blogs) so that 'on the fly' NS users could contribute to the Karma system by giving a simple thumbs up or thumbs down for contributions. Most people find it cumbersome to adjust karma on NS and seeing this proposed systems popularity and relative success on Digg in user comments posted about stories, its prompted me to suggest its implementation here to aid our system.
