crossing the US-BC border w/ Hooch

Ok so whats the deal with this. cuz i'm gonna be 19 and leaving very close to the border so it would be very nice if I could drive up buy my booze and drive back. but since I'm not of legal age in the US is there a problem with bringing it back? anyone know or have any experience?

check the laws, but there used to be a loophoole in the minor transporting laws in the US about if you were of leagl age for the country that you were coming from, all you had to say was it is a gift, and you had every legal right to bring it from the boarder directly to your house, or the recipients house. However, I know this has gotten me across the border in the past, I was told by the US Customs that the state/local police wouldn't acknowledge the loophole if I was pulled over in the US.

Check it out, you got nothing to lose.

Easy way to find out it to call either the Customs office or even a police station (I wouldn't recomend calling one near you) and asking them what you can do. Basically saying that you were going to Canada and wanted to bring something back as a gift (like for your family or something).

there is a certain amount of alcohol you are allowed to bring over the border no matter what the age. you will not have a problem with customs with it. However if you are pulled over in the US with the alcohol, then you can receive a minor in possession even if you have not had a drink or even if it is not your alcohol.

Quebec's drinking age is 18, and I think Alberta's might be too. The rest of Canada is 19, unless I'm wrong and a couple more provinces dropped it down to 18. No Canadian province has a drinking age of over 19.

You'll get it past customs. All it is is a tollbooth. At least when your going into ontario from michigan it is. Just don't drive retarded after you get into the US and you'll be fine.
