Boosters on the kryptons...?

i have the krypton pros and im wondering if i should just put them on over the shell like the stock straps or what?

Pretty sure you should drill out the rivits holding in the stock strap, if there are rivits.

I know langes have a nut you can unscrew. Take a hot nail to pierce holes in the nylon strap, then use chicago nuts, or t-nuts to screw it all together. Use lock-tite too, mine came undone and i almost lost the plastic cover..

yeah im not really concerned about installing them permanently. im just wondering because usually they go below the shell in the front but kryptons have a really high shell soo... just put them on over the shell and theyll work out???

Ive ridden mine over the shell, and under the shell. If you ride them over the shell, they do absolutely nothing. They need to be against your liner to work, at least for me.

You really need to install them properly to get the best from them. Any decent shop should do it for you, or just oick up some t-nuts.

And under the shell is best.

I use mine over the shell.  The way the krypton plastic tongue works, you can't fit the strap and its buckle under the shell.  They don't work as well as they would on a regular boot, but they still help a lot.

I ride the Krypton Pro's as well, and honestly don't see the need for Booster straps. So I was wondering, what liner do you have with your boots? And are you experiencing some bad shin bang or what's the reason you want to put Booster straps on?

I ride the krypton cross with the booster strap over the tongue and I have the Intuition Power Wrap liner. So far, no shin bang.

Until I begin experiencing shin bang, I'll keep the location of the strap over the tongue.

I have the Rampages with the stock liner.  Have you ever used Boosters?  Even if you're not experiencing shin bang, they help you get a lot more energy out of your ski.  Every time you flex your boots, they spring back right with your legs.  The difference is remarkable.

No, I haven't used the Booster Straps. I contemplated putting them on my old Salomon boots, but then I got my Krypton Pros.

take out the liner and unscrew the plastic piece on the upper back and then drill a hole in ur booster strap but make sure it is in the right spot so they can be tightened and then put the plastic piece on with the booster strap in between that and the shell and it should tighten to the front of ur liner and work perfect.

Same on Rampages.  You have to unscrew that piece to get the old strap off, so it's pretty straightforward.

idk how good u can see it. but u have to make sure the hole in the back is in the right spot too. they look sick on there too

Easiest way to get the hole in the right spot is to put the straps on (i.e. in the place that they'll go when you're finished) and tighten them.  Then just take a piece of chalk or something and mark the strap at the midpoint of the back of the boot.  Super easy.
