In
the early spring of 2008, SkiStar Åre and Jon Olsson will stage one of
the most spectacular ski events this year in Åre. Between 29 March and
6 April, some of the best skiers in the world will take part in JOI
Super Sessions, a combination of a photo/film competition and freeride
show.
- We are very pleased to be co-staging this type
of international events. We have organised various projects with Jon
over the years, such as last year’s huge success, Jon Olsson
Invitational, says Niclas Sjögren-Berg, Head of Destination Åre.
Jon
Olsson will invite some of the best skiers in the world to compete in
Åre for more than one week. In the company of the riders’ respective
film and photo teams the stars will compete in 5 or 6 different jumps
in various locations in Åre. The recordings will be open to the public
and there will be several side events organised. One of these is an
amateur competition, featuring Jon and some of the other stars in the
jury.
On 5 April the films will be shown to the public whereas a celebrity jury will elect the winners."
