More convincing of the 'rents

So I'm about to get a pair of hellbents in the 179 length. The only thing my parents are skeptical about is the fact that it's such a specific ski. They don't think it's worth the money, for how specific it is. I don't want you to tell me they are too specific, just help me think of good reasons that they aren't. They are paying for half of them so that's why they are skeptical.

first of all if your parents are buying those, fuck you, you are a lucky bastard

second of all.  they have 100cm of effective edge so they do pretty well on groomers too.

woops, I didn't read that part...but you are still lucky you only need to pay half on such an expensive ski.  I would kill for mine to go in on some ep pros

they still work fine on groomers, tell them youll be able to keep up with them, and then on a pow day youll be blasting past them because theyre the shit in pow obviously. tell em you wont use em only for pow but as more of an everyday ski

Will I be able to ski them in the park? I'm 5 9 and 130 pounds. Right now I'm on 171 thrusters (obviously a very different ski). I don't want to get techy on them in the park, just 1's and regular old rails and stuff. Will I be able to do it?

I can 5, as you can tell, I'm not that into jumping. I can switch up, two-sev on and off and a few other things. Is that strong?

i think hes talking in a fundamental way of skiing not just yoour park skills but your ability to actually carve and adjust to a bigger ski

270's on might be pretty hard on hellbents.
just just straight sliding boxes and rails should be fine.
and they should be good for jumps. pep can do it why cant you right?

Living on the west coast, in itself, is enough to warrant a ski more than 80 at the waist. Tell your parents that the Hellbents aren't going to be your only ski. You'll still have your Thrusters (unless I missed something), and that makes for a 2 ski quiver. Powder is a large part of skiing, not just park & groomers, but you simply can't explore/enjoy powder with the Thrusters. You gotta sell it to them a bit (do they know much about skiing?).

Apparently Hellbents are heavy though... and you probably don't wanna use a 122mm ski on rails anyway.

Or you could just straight up tell 'em that you think they're  cool skis. And that they're the coolest parents. 

Go all out. I know I had to just to borrow $150 from the 'rents for the Moment(s)

Tell 'em what they wanna hear... and you'll get what you want.

Yeah, they are heavy. I skied them in the park a bit. It can be done, but it's not ideal. I can still do multiple switch ups with my 189s and 270 on/off and crap, it's jsut not as easy. Then after skiing those in the park, getting on some actualy park skis again is the greatest feeling ever. They turn soooo easily, and spin effortlessly. It's like weight training, cuz when you get back on your light skis you do better.

not true.
i got a 270 on yesterday just fine and im smaller then him.

but they seriously carve exactly the same as a normal ski on groomers.
