back in grade 9 and 10 we had this awesome science teacher. he was really really good at teaching and had been doing his thing at our school for 36 years. everyone who had him through highschool for the sciences said that their first year of university always ended up just being review, he prepared his students so well. in my grade 11 year he retired and we got this new teacher. he has no clue what he's doing. you ask him a question and he rambles about something completely unrelated for a couple minutes and then sends you away to do ur work with smug little look on his face like "i just helped another student im the king of the world." either that or he'll just say look in ur notes even if we have no notes on the topic. he can't even finish a years curriculum without missing units because he usually has to re-teach topics because he realizes he was teaching them wrong. ex.: last year we had to re-do a physics unit on graphing motion because he taught us how to graph completely backwards and just said oh, sorry, we'll just re-do is. thats what we deal with.
and then he goes on these rants about how we'll never be ready for university because we cant do his stupidly worded multiple choice tests. heres an idea, how about instead of wasting class time lecturing us about it, teach us the material, because i cant remember a single test he gave withing the last two years where he didnt have to omit questions because they were on topics he forgot to cover. its bullshit.
and now a lot of the ppl in my class including my friends and girlfriend have no chance of getting into the university's they wanted to and for some people its getting tight as to whether or not they'll get in at all.
i think this is all rediculous b/c all the kids in the classes he teaches could easily get honors marks and did so when mr. scott was teaching (the old good teacher) but now everyone is screwed b/c of this teacher.
i know ppl will say stop blaming it on him its ur fault but it clearly isnt 20 kids going from 80-95% averages to some failing and most barely scraping 70's at the very most is scary.
im going to the principle about it and if need be the school division but its probably too late to help out with peoples university plans.
GAHHHHHHHH!!!
