So me and my friends managed to get a hold of a 20 foot handrail for a back yard rail...the only problem so far is that the rail was cut off at the base so there is no way to attach supports that we can think of. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone ran into this problem and found a solution without welding new supports or digging holes in the ground, seeing as the ground is now frozen. Thanks for the help
Go to Lowe's and get a tee fitting in the diameter of the rail ends. Pop it on the end, and put some more pipe in the free ends for support. You might want to consider threading the ends of the rail as well and screwing on the fitting so it doesn't work it's way loose.
i would probably drill holes through the bottoms of the supports and put somethign horizontal through them as supports side to side and i think as long as you pack it into the snow really good it should be okay for a backyard setup and shouldnt be too difficult
