Sick new backyard rail

 Yo, just built this rail this morning all in all it cost me under $50 and i put about an hour and a half of work into making it, its 12' long and 2.5' high, the only problem is, i dont have anywhere to put it except for a park near my house. I dont really want to put it there cuz im worried that some goober kid will come along and hurt himself and then sportsdad will come and break it or something. What do you think?

its ABS plastic pipe, yeah i kind of ran out of wood for the base, so im just going to pack it in really well

thats sick, i made one in my backyard with a tube of pvc mounted on a mound of snow. it worked tho

definitely, so it doesnt wobble back n forth when you land on it, maybe even a center post to stop the bend

Oh, I wasnt aware either of you have ridden on it, you must have come and set up an in run in my garage while i was eating turkey. Thats cool though I havent tested it or experimented with it, so im glad i know that it will bend and probably break. Did it slide nicely at least?

i dont think its going to break if you put a decent amount of snow around it. if anything make the base coming off the legs a little wider and you should be fine.

and good job using ABS pipe. i've been telling people to use it over pvc for a long time and your the first person i've seen use it.

ABS does tend to hold up in the cold a little better.

I think that if i had more wood, i would definitly make the bases wider but i just packed it in really well and its solid, as for the middle support, the sideways 2 x 6 keeps everything rock solid, not even a little bit of bending. maybe if a big fat fatty used it it would bend or something, but im not that big.

mad props on a nice rail.... i think you really need a middle leg though.  otherwise that sucker is going to slowly bend and then snap really easily.

nah looks like hes got enough wood in there..support shouldnt be an issue. plus if youve got snow just kinda dig the legs in and it shouldnt wobble at all.

if its not too heavy, just take it to a local park and set it up. thats how i do it. have fun!
