I had to buy a graphing calculator today for trig and it was $113! that is freaking insane and as i thought abotu it, they say that education is free, that is horse crap- we have all been buying crap for school since we were like 5 and it sucks ass- our government is a bunch of rich capitalist ass holes and we have to pay them to go to school, paper, pencils, calculators, pens, folders, computers, ink (for printers), all this butt crap so we can get a 'free education' horse crap i tell you!we have all been robbed by this capitalist nation!
-sorry if none of this makes sense but i have alot of things i would have rather spent $113 on than a dumb ass calculator i am going to use for like a year and i am pissed about it.

you wasted your money, i would of bought a TI-89 or TI-92, you use it in calc and will all through college, you could of bought one for like 150, and it would last you a long ass time. sounds to me you got a TI-83 at that price.

not really, my guess is you are a froshie or soph. in algebra or geometry, you havent had a taste of calculus, when you do, you will have wished you had an 89, it makes life so much easier. and it will be a good investment, 150 is not that bad

junior acctually and no calc yet just trig and i could buy lot's of stuff for $150 and I can't really afford that right now because it's the off season still so I'm not working yet.It just sucks ass that we have to spend that on a dumb ass calculator- that is all i was trying to say.

That's nothing, try buying an 83plus for $100 and then really getting it stolen at the pansy rich boy school you go to, that's what happened to me, but I was able to get another one for free though. I guess they come with insurance or warranty or something.

u cant get anything free in life...everything has a cost...if nobody had to pay for school suplies then that would mean higher taxes so the gov can pay for that shit...the national gov is rich yes but the state govs are not so rich and they are the ones that would buy the shit...just think how much money that would be for the gov to buy paper, pencils, calculator, pens, notebooks, folders, backpacks, ect for every student in the us

Seriously, people whine way too fucking much, and all of it is getting on my nerves. Sorry if I'm being bitchier than usual, but I just got home from work, and all they care about is all of the damn gossip. I'M SICK OF IT. Grow the hell up. They're just trying to teach you shit. At least you're not spending $3,000 a year just to go to school, damn. Our generation takes too many damn things for granted, and it PISSES me off a lot. At least you don't live back in the 1800s or whatever when education for women and girls wasn't even allowed. Shorty-T... holy crap... you're saying education isn't free?? fuck off of course it is. so you pay what, 20$ at the beginning of the year and you have to buy some more supplies during the year? would you rather have to pay the teachers salaries, and the building fees (of the school) and all that stuff just so you can get free supplies. You've got it pretty easy compared to a lot of ppl in this world if your main concern is spending 150$ on a caluculator.

Technically your education isn't free... That's what taxes are for! And a lot of people in this country go to private school which costs a shitload of money!

Anyway, if you really need something and you don't have money you have two choices:
1) Steal it
2) EBay

and honestly, most schools do have calculators that they'll lend out to kids who don't have enough money to pay for their own. I don't mind having to buy my own school supplies. They aren't that expensive.

my calculator came with 4 games. If you get the TI-86 Silver edition, it comes with some. You can get them off the internet too.

go to the store. Buy the computer cable. Its 15 dollars with a 15 dollar mail in rebate. Search Calculator games on the internet. Download games. Fail math class.

Doom for the calculator is so sweet. Its just like the old 80s game but not in color.

You can get TI 83+ for like 80 bucks here.
