Risers on twins

I've heard that risers on twins aren't a good idea because they create a less stable landing. Anyone have experience with this. I was think about trying out the Volkl V-Pros, but since they're wide, a riser might be needed to help them carve.

i dont think it should be a big problem. the V Pro is a pretty wide ski like you said, so stability on landings souldnt be that big a deal.

On my Concepts i have a deflex plate as well as the driver plates and they are still super stable.

what risers do is get your ski on edge more easily, so if you were jumping all the time it is better to not have them. they will help you ski all around though. just depends on what you want to do. park= no riser all around= riser

risers create a 'solid' platform under your foot. When you land on your tails for examply, you want the ski to flex slightly under your foot, and this won't happen if you have risers on your bindings.

risers do make it a lot easier to edge, or catch an edge for that matter. your skis are lighter and easier to ski switch and just mess around when you dont have risers. i have v pros and they are fine without risers. risers are good if your doing any big mtn though

I heard somewhere that risers can help keep you from fuckign up your breaks on switch landings....not sure where I heard it or if its true....Anyone else heard anythign about this?

I have a little riser that came with my bindings...its not much of one though

My friend has risers on his 1080s, and his bindings got messed up real quick. If you ride more all mountain then park I'd consider it, but not if you ride mostly park.

Speaking of messing up your breaks on switch landings...Has anybody found a solution to this. I hate it when I have to pry at them with cold fingers after I eat shit off a big switch landing.

I have V-pros with no risers and they carve like MAD for skis their size. no need for risers.

risers allow you to exert more leverage on the skis and the skis to exert more leverage on you. it is harder to land if you are a little off-center with tall risers because the ski will be more likely to want to edge and exert torque on you. Risers also eliminate the 'feel' you get when you are close to the ski and feel it flex and move on the snow.
