Getting sponsored?

i was wondering if i could get sponsored and how i would,
i can 270 on/off rails
i can seven, unnatty sw 3 and switchup lots of rails.
what else would i need to get sponsored, and if so how do you think id get noticed...

do comps, have fun, get to know people.
It's more who you know rather than what you can do...of course you have to be decent to a certain extent.

hhm ok, the way most ppl get sponsored is by throwing down in a comp or putting out a super dank promo, from what i've heard though most promo edits tend not to work, so if you're really looking for a sponsorship start hitting up the comps

It isn't necessarily what you can do, but the manner you do it in. What can you offer a company? And how so?

To be frank, in today's freeskiing world, those tricks are just common stock, not a blip on the radar. But that doesn't matter. The best way to really get noticed is to do consistently well at competitions, to get more involved with the industry (various ways to do that), and yea.

There are many people who are sponsored who shouldn't be, but that is usually because of either connections or just personifying everything right. Ski, progress, have fun, and let sponsors come to you.

sponsorships are over rated.  just ski to have fun and if you get good enough then people will start to notuce and remember you.

agreed but also for the tricks that your claiming alot of ppl can throw 270's on, switchups, 7's and whatever, but the thing that separates ppl is style, having never seen you ski i can't judge how steezy you are. while you wannt to be throwing down big tricks, a penciled 7 and a hucked 270 on isnt going to win you the sponsorship

I don't compete park (yet), so I can't speak for the park sponsorships. I know that I really don't deserve my sponsorship but hey, I will take advantage of every opportunity I get. That's what you have to do to get to the top, or just get discounts at least haha.
This winter, I'll just do my best and film a little edit. I think I'll compete in a couple big mountain comps, and maybe a slopestyle comp, but I'm really not too concerned about results. I'll do well if I can throw down, but I really want to have a ton of fun and meet new people which is what you have to do to get better and to get yourself known.

Oh and work your fucking ass off. To be one, you're going to have to devote yourself to skiing and just skiing.

ya thats a good way to approach skiing, i do alot of filming so id be really interested in a filming sponsorship but for different reasons, i think it would be sick to have a company supporting what you're making but also help you grow bigger into possibly a small film company

go out at trow down in small local comps. a lot of times there are the same companies and riders in different comps so you are bound to get noticed.

make an edit/ lots of edits post them on ns get known here, make sure everyone thinks your good. contact local reps or find them and talk to them. be popular and known at your mountain. but make sure your good

u need to be fairly descent at skiing and need to indorce name/products like a mofo...thats what sponsership is endorsing a company by wearing their gear/stickers and talkin about it to everyone and there moms

Sponsors are ruining skiing!!!!! How many kidz have you seen get sponsored and let it get to there head and then they get all cocky like im the best kid out there when really they arent that good?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?????!$!@#$!?

Ski for the reasons that you should ski for:
1. Because skiing is rad 2.

alright kid, imma lay it down straight for ya: you suck at skiing.  nuff said.  your tricks are stock and everyone can do em.  you need to do some serious work, bust ur ass all day everyday, do every comp you can and do well in them, and then suck as much dick as you can so that people will feel bad for you and give you free stuff cause your so pathetic.

Just tell people you are sponsored, it is almost as cool.  It also depends where you live, if you live in Indiana the it's going to be way easier to get sponsored than in Summit County.

if you want to be sponsored you shouldnt be skiing.  just ski for yourself, do what you want and have fun. dont ski for other people.  pleasing other people is for football.
though i guess there are those people that are all hardcore about it and think they are all badass, and all into showing how super skilled and cool they are, kinda like Dumont.
i guess ill never understand how people can be like that with something so fun and free, when there are plenty of other team sports like football or whatever where you can show off and think your the shit all you want.
im not saying its like bad to be sponsored, if someone came up to me and said they wanted to sponsor me id definatly say yes, as long as i could still do what i want.     but dont make a huge effort to get a sponsor,  just have fun and do what you want.  how much you impress other people, what tricks you can do, and how many sponsors you have doesnt determine how "good" you are.  how much fun you have, and how original and creative you are determines your skill.
and hell if i owned a company i wouldnt care if someone sent in a video of them doing a sw 10 and 450 on pretzel 50000's off.  cause there are literally hundreds of people that do that shit.  id be more interested in sponsoring the kid doing the most original, creative, fun, and new stuff.

gettting sponsored doesnt mean shit dude...........honestly i was into all that sponsoring shit until everything was going crazy basically they boss u around and make ur descion like entering comp and if you dont perform the best at comp then ur dropped so i was like fuck that i am here to ski and have fun not try to get rapped

bro. if youre ooking to get noticed on tricks alone, you need to step your game up for sure. just like everyone om here has said, if you have sick style, get on the comp circuit and get noticed, thats when you get approached. i go up on the hill and see 10 year olds throwing way sicker stuff than that. jet yourself KNOWN, and it can happen.

Get to know the right people, and be very outgoing.  Sponsors dont want to sponsor you because you can throw a seven, they want to sponsor you because you know mad people and they all pay attention to what you do, therefore, if you do something cool while repping a company, other kids will start supporting that company.  Thats what sponsors get out of it.  They are out to make money, and you, my friend, are volunteering to be their little bitch in exchange for some free gear and maybe free skiing.

start by approaching shops and the hill you are at, most of the employees there have contacts with reps and can pass your name along to a rep if they feel you actually deserve to get product.  Having a video and placing well in comps doesnt hurt either
