Going back for Christmas, mixed emotions

I moved away from Ottawa in august to Vancouver to go to college, so i've been here for like 5 months now, it sort of now feels like home. I feel like its gonna be super weird when i go home for christmas like I dont belong neither here nor there... i heard this is what immi's feel like when they come from another place... has anyone else experienced this shit... i dont know what to expect? I know im gonna be super stoked on seeing my family and my buds but i know im gonna have to leave soon after to go back to van

i feel that sometimes too when i go back to spain every summer.....it feels weird for a little bit but then its fine.

i know what you mean. home means my best friend of 15 years, the feel of chair at my home mountain, and good cooking-- but for some reason i'm ancy to get back to my 'new home'. it's not that things have been replaced but new mean alot to me and such. i went back to my old highschool today for a meeting, and there's kids just wandering around thinking they own the place. the culture shock of being somewhere new was hard at times but i think i'd slap myself if i hadn't left. i like being able to call 2 places home.

tish I miss you! I miss school and VT!!!!

I love coming home. things are different but in the end things never change that much. all my friends and I still do the same things and hang out at all the same places. we were friends when we went to school and we're friends when we're back from school.

well said, yea, i woke up this morning and one of my buddies back home called me and pumped me up to come home, now im not so un-stoked about it... the only shitty thing is, im gonna go back and probably not want to leave

yea cause im back for 18 days, which is just enough time to get attached to my friends and family again, but at the same time i dont wanna leave this place cause i have good buds here too

i think it's pretty sweet going back home. I always miss good cooking and it's nice to be around the fam for a little while, but when you do finally get sick of them again it's time to head back to uni and everything seems to work out real well.

It is weird at first. You get so used to your new life and you go back to your old one. But after like a day its like the old days again and its alot of fun. Don't be too worried about it, seeing friends and family you haven't seen for awhile is nice.
