Ron Paul Breaks Fundraising Record

I'm so sick of this election already.

Once again, never ever EVER ever ever ever ever going to happen. ever.

The biggest issue I see with Paul is the across the board tax cuts. After doing a bit of research around his sites Issues page, he wants to cut taxes everywhere.

While this might seem like a good thing, the money has to come from somewhere. If we want a government that can function effectively, it needs money. Pure and simple. Tax cuts have and continue to  cut funding from programs that need proper funding to achieve their goals.

A good example is No Child Left Behind, or NCLB. NCLB, President Bushes education bill, set very aggressive goals for closing "achievement gaps" between different ethnicities within schools, and created a system of evaluation for schools, that forced them to conform to national standards or face restructuring or closure. However, the amount of money that has been appropriated is far less than is necessary to fully implement the bill and many states are suing the federal government to get proper funding to accomplish the goals of the bill.

If enough money was available, NCLB could possibly function as intended. However, it has been consistently underfunded and is causing many schools to be shut down, especially in areas of large poverty such as the Native American tribal reservations of Montana. In this case, the lack of funding has forced the destruction of the school system in these areas, and makes an already bad situation worse.

As the application of NCLB demonstrates, funding is necessary to run programs; and without the taxes that Paul wants to cut, more programs will suffer and will continue to suffer shortfalls. That is why I am not  a fan of Paul.

No Child Left Behind was designed to undermine public school systems, the entire point of it was that it find public schools inadequete or force them to be inadeqeute by reducing funding. Then was the school was rated badly money is given to parents so that there child may atttend private school, ten years down the line are public schools are all privately run.

Why are you so pumped to be sucking off some paranoid libertarian whos campaign will just go down in flames?  He has some legit ideas, but his other ones make me think he an old age onset of schizophrena.

Maybe you should read some studies on NCLB and see that its application in many places isn't beneficial.  It does help some children, but others, who are in middle income and higher families, it doesn't help at all.  It is a program that needs to be scrapped and implemented in  a different way.

Yes, at first examination your claims seem valid however, you fail to see where and HOW he would achieve this. If you have listened to any of his debates, he will get rid of all the wasteful departments in our government. He is the only candidate who addressed our national debt issue and how dangerous it is becoming. Paul obviously wouldn't just abolish taxes and hope for the best. He will calculate a new tax after he removes all the wasteful shit going on in our government (i.e the C.I.A aka the gestapo)
And to everyone who says "this will never happen!!!", you certainly hold the worst mindset as a member of a democracy. Who are you to decide your vote based on popularity? If everyone like you, and I assume there are millions, voted for the person they actually think should win, and not just who was popular and realistic, we would have a much better country. This is the first election where we dont have to decide between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. Paul's campaign continues to amass great support, and everyday people are learning about this guy. Fuck straw polls and vote for who you really want to be president.

The only big tax that I have seen Paul feel very strongly about cutting is the income tax.

NCLB is a joke.  The worst solution to any problem is to keep throwing more and more money at it.  If president bush wanted to pay for NCLB out of his own pocket that is fine with me, but it is not the peoples responsibility to waste away their own money that they worked hard for on some flawed system such as NCLB.

Yes, getting rid of the income tax is a big thing and I would love it because I actually get to keep my fucking money that I work hard for.  There are other taxes that Paul would leave and they would do perfectly fine to fund governmental agencies.  The income tax wasnt established until 1913 I believe.  The income tax money is mostly used outside of our own fucking country so in my opinion it is bullshit.  I never see any benefit to myself or my family from the income tax. 
Ron Paul is not about cutting away all taxes, watch the Meet the Press youtube and you will see him explain it himself.

He has no chance of winning, Iowa and NH seem to be his only targets, if he expects any kind of chance at winning he better spend some of those funds spreading his message nationwide (ie SOUTH). His nomination doesn't sound realistic in the big picture. Let's face it guys, we pull out of that war, lose oil excavation and our economy is on the brink of disaster, the federal reserve and IRS know this, and will the higher ups will continue to elect the imperialistic manipulatable nominees, but hey, G.W's second nomination won the popular vote right?

You do realize the Middle East isn't the only place in the world with oil. Canada has HUGE oil reserves, and so does Russia. Siberia's oil reserves are mostly untouched in fact. The middle East is just easiest.

Top 3 oil producers in the world: 1) Saudi Arabia 2) Russia 3) United States. OPEC is generally considered to control about 40% of the world's crude oil exports. I think Iran is number 4 but it doesn't matter to us because we don't import Iranian oil.

Exactly, the Middle East doesn't need to have the monopoly it seems to have with our interests.
