Healing time on knee caps

so today i crashed super hard and my knee was killing.. then i went to the doctor and they said it was broken ( one clean break through me knee cap). i was wondering how long this would take to heal... cuz i really want to ski soon

i think healing time would depend on how much stress you put on it. i say take it as easy as you can to guarantee the quickest recovery

just do what the doc says:

Raise the leg above your heart for the first couple days 
ice it for the first 3 days , then heat it
after a week, restrict movements to minimal and asks doc/physical therapist what exercisezs you can do to keep the joints/ligaments strong

haha yeah knee injurys suck... ne body got any ideas for new hobbies cuz i wont be skiing for a while

i did ask the doctor... he said he didnt know and reffered me to another doctor... im going there tommorow i think
