Ok this is gonna sound like a noob question, but how much do you guys file down your edges for rails?

I just dull them a bit under foot and about 3-5 cms higher and lower than underfoot. I also sharpen everywhere else.

We would just run the metal part over underfoot part of your edges.

I dont detune them, they do by themself while skiing rails... and yes it slide well anyways, and im sure it doesnt affect the edge that much more than if it was detuned

ummm sledgehammer??? anything that can dent or dull or wreck metal basically, theres no one tool for detuning edges...

At my shop we use a file. You dont need to go crazy just round it out under foot.
